Double Journey Chapter 29

Amethyst and Arcanine led the way through Verdanturf. Wind whipped her long brown hair into her mouth and eyes, but she didn't care. they had to find Blaziken. Diamond walked beside her, and they were both bone tired. they had been looking for about an hour, and the weather was wearing Amethyst down like a rock type being hit with Hydro Cannon.

"How much-" Amethyst gasped with cold. "-Longer?"

Diamond shook her head, pale blue eyes sparking a fuse. "I'll look until I find him." She muttered. Arcanine propped Amethyst up a little on his broad shoulder and they kept walking. when the two girls came to the street the rain was at its strongest. Thunder shook the ground and rain had almost flooded the street. Across the road there was something that sent a Jolt through Amethyst's body.

A slightly wiggling box.

Amethyst and Diamond splashed across the road, and even devoted Arcanine did as well, just to get to the box. The rain stung the fire type with every drop that hit, but he was still there for Amethyst and refused to go into his Pokeball. The box was worse than Amethyst thought. it was soggy and cold and mildew cropped up at the corners. Amethyst quickly opened it. inside were eight tiny Eevee.

"Oh my...oh Arceus." Amethyst held her breath. Without thinking Amethyst and Diamond grabbed the Eevee and hopped on Arcanine's back. they had to get back to the Pokémon Center as soon as possible.

Amethyst and Diamond were giving the Eevee to Nurse Joy for bloodwork and healing. They were handing over the last two. One appeared to be asleep, and the other was fierce and stubborn, not wanting to leave its littermate.

Amethyst was stressed out about everything that was happening lately. First the dream, then Blaziken's kidnapping, and now the little Eevee! And Arcanine still had smoke rising off of his fur.

When Amethyst got back to her room, the storm was still going. She was greeted by Silver. "I've figured out what part of your dream means, Amethyst." He said quietly, grabbing her arm and pulling her inside. Krys and Red were already inside. They had lit candles for light. Copper was picking things off of her too-short dress and casting flirtatious glances at Red.

"Whaddabout me?!?!?" Diamond yelped.

"Eheheheh..." Silver said nervously. "I only meant... A.A's dream."

Amethyst grinned, walking over to Red and grabbing his arm. "Did you hear about what we found?" she asked quietly.

"Joy told me everything." Red stated.

"We've been working on dream samples we got from Magma." He gestured to the Typhlosion, who was on the bed with a strange device on his head, looking drunk. "Go talk to Silv, he has the information for you."

Amethyst walked back to Diamond and Silver, and Diamond was blowing up on him about not analyzing her dream. "LOOK. We ALL know that you have a HUGE crush on Amethyst!!" She gestured around the room to the blushing Amethyst and even Red walking up behind her. "But that doesn't mean you put HER before ME!!" Diamond's crystal blue eyes burned with fury.

Silver gritted his teeth, and flicked the red hair out of his eyes. "Look." He said in a dangerously icy tone that Amethyst had never heard him use before. "Maybe there was freaking clue about where your Blaziken was being held in what I was about to say. But your PEA SIZED BRAIN obviously couldn't comprehend that and you blew up like the arrogant jerk you are!!" He clenched his fists. "I'm sick of having you on my tail!"

"Silver, STOP!" Amethyst pleaded. She had never seen him this way, and she was on the verge of tears.

"No, Amethyst." Silver said curtly, turning back to Amethyst. Red pulled Amethyst close to him and she buried her face in his jacket. Why was this all happening at once?!!

Diamond snarled. "ONE. I wouldn't be talking because YOUR brain isn't too big either!! TWO! You wouldn't tell me a thing about Blaziken but you don't give a crap about me! THREE. You're going down. Hard." And with that Diamond leapt at Silver. Just then Gold burst in and quickly stopped her. There was more argument, but Amethyst shut it all out and just snuggled into Red's jacket, tears rushing down her face. Red brought her out of his coat.

"D-Don't look at me. I'm hideous." She muttered.

"You're beautiful." Red assured her. "Why are you crying?"

"I'm just scared. I don't know what'll happen to us all." Amethyst choked.

"Don't be scared. I'll always be there for you." Red said.

Violet eyes flashed with a flame. He

had said the same thing. Lance.

It had been just after Amethyst's quiet home in New Bark Town had burned down. Little Amethyst in a purple paisley dress wobbled out of the rubble, clutching her favorite stuffed Ursaring.

"Mama! Mama!" The little girl called out into the smoke and Ash. But Amethyst's mother was in Azalea town getting clothes for Amethyst. The little Amethyst sobbed hysterically. It had all been a blur... blinding light in the shape of a star, her doorframe collapsing behind her as she leapt the stairs. Just then a boy older than her along with a Dragonair approached. His eyes were cold but only for a moment. "Come on, lets get you to a safe place and contact your Mom." He extended a hand and Amethyst took it with a smile. "Don't be scared, ill always be there for you."

Amethyst was pulled back into reality with a start.
