Double Journey Chapter 48

Next up was the Beauty Competition on Stage 7.

There were so many contestants that the contestants were split into two groups, Primary Types and Secondary Types. Arcanine was entering into Primary, and Glaceon Secondary. There would be separate rewards for each.

The Beauty Contest turned out to be more complicated than Amethyst expected. As she reapplied the rainbow makeup onto Arcanine, they went over their routine.

There was literally no room for mistakes. The Trainer and Delcatty before them were amazing yet smug; Amethyst was flashed a sarcastic smirk as they walked by.

Finally it was Amethyst's turn.

Arcanine showed off his most stunning and dazzling fire type moves! The crowd "Oohed" and "Aaahd."

Amethyst thought they looked pretty good, and the judges did too.

After that was Tricks!

Arcanine was very silly in this competition. He did handstands, jumped through fire hoops, was a base for Amethyst, and incinerated the stage in a beautiful fiery display of his whole life.

No biggie.

After tricks was Showcasing, where Arcanine was just basically showing off...well, everything!

Every modeling station, he pulled a perfect pose, every target, exploded beautifully, every audience member, awestruck.

The crowd was alit with camera flashes and red recording lights. Red roses were thrown onstage, and Pokémon treats, which Amethyst and Arcanine gathered after the routine and thanked the audience for.

After that they walked around the convention with Valencia and Kippers, buying them sweet treats, signing autographs, being silly, and taking selfies with fans.

It was an extremely fun day, and when they returned to their room, they found Lynn and Green waiting for them.

Lynn hugged her in congratulations, and gave her a week's supply of fun dip. Green kissed her cheek in a friendly way and gave her some Pocky.

She thanked them both.

"Actually, Amethyst, we have to tell you a few things!" Lynn said nervously.

Green nodded. "First thing! Lynn and I are dating!" He announced.

Amethyst squealed so loud that Arcanine had to cover Valencia's ears and Lynn jumped.

Amethyst pulled them into a hug, then pulled back, confused. "But what about Steven?" She asked.

"Oh," said Lynn. "He dumped me a week ago. I never told anyone but Green. I was too embarrassed."

Amethyst nodded. "Well, it's so great that you two got together!" She smiled.

"Second thing," said Lynn. "We saw the rest of the gang at your Toughness Competition. Green got the scoop."

"Red and Gold are entering Double Battle, as well as Silver and Copper. They'll stop at nothing to beat you so be careful!" Green added.

Amethyst was taken aback. "Huh. You guys better tell Diamond this stuff too. She's right across the hall."

Lynn and Green hugged her again and left, as Amethyst sat on the bed and put her head in her hands. Arcanine nudged them away.

"He's out to get me now," she said. "He wants a little taste of revenge and he wants to ruin my special day."

No need to ask who 'he' was.
