Double Journey Chapter 46

Arcanine's POV

Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy.

Today is the day that Of the Verdanturf Contest!

I am so excited! I got up at 4:00 in the morning, because I simply can't sleep under this much excitement. I try to order room service, but they cannot understand me.

Aw narks.

I walk into the bathroom. Man it's early. Not even Green human is awake yet! I leap up onto my hind legs and turn the door handle with one paw, ready to look my handsome self over in the mirror.

I was NOT expecting Glaceon to be there.

"Chill out, Arcanine," she said, not turning back.

"But I'm so nervous!" I panted back.

She leapt down from the dresser, and nuzzled my side. My heart skipped a beat. Maybe two.

"You will be amazing!" We said at the same time to eachother.

We waited till around 6:00 to wake up our trainers. They could barely stand, but we made them. I helped Amethyst brush her hair and nuzzled her cheek. She hugged me. "Are you ready for your big day!"

I nodded vigorously, panting.

I didn't notice it before, but Green human had slipped out of the room. He had just returned, holding two gorgeous outfits.

Amethyst's POV

Amethyst slipped the black unitard on. She was decked with ombré white to orange arc anime stripes that jutted over the black fabric, and an Arcanine fur mane and tail.

She swiped on her stage makeup, as Diamond got ready as well. They walked out of the hotel bathroom together, laughing. Arcanine and Glaceon stood beside them as they thanked Green and bundled down the hall and out the door. This was great!

The streets were flowing with people and Pokémon in perfect harmony, all on their way to the contest hall, which was huge and amazingly beautiful. It seemed to take no time at all to get to Verdanturf and into the majestic hall.

Arcanine's POV

I could feel mine and Glaceon's eyes widen as we stared at the structure and didn't hesitate to dash in.

Amethyst got a private room for just us. The staff was super welcoming! In our room was a beautiful gift basket filled with treats and potions. But I glanced behind me, wanting to run and play with Glaceon too.

"We'll go after I fix you up!" Amethyst told me, as she put white pre wrap on my forelegs and paw-toeless gloves on my feet. She put a golden collar around my neck, perfect tightness, and then dusted some rainbowy makeup on the bottom of my tail. She poofed on gold glitter too, just to be safe. Right when we were done, we heard a knock on the door. I knew it was Glaceon.

"You look fine, now go get em, tiger!" Amethyst ruffles my fur, then opens

the door for me. I meet Glaceon's eye-she looks stunning in a pink tutu.

"Hey, wait!" Amethyst called, letting out Valencia. "Take her to play, too!"

I gladly oblidge, carrying her on my back the whole way to the playground.

"Be good," Glaceon and I tell her, and she promises she will before darting off to the mankey bars.

"I love it when you play parent," Glaceon rubbed her cheek to my side.

"Thanks!" I laughed. "I'm terrible at it." I look at my paws.

"Hey!" She gets between my head and paws. "Don't be down on yourself! You're good at anything you do!"

I don't feel it, but my eyes start to water. "You always know what to say!" I bend down to lick her cheek, but am interrupted by a loud cry from over by the teacups.

"ARCANIIIIIINE!" It's Valencia's wail and it jolts me. I dash to her, to see a large and daunting Honchcrow looming over the cute little Eevee.

I inhale, snarling as the familiar scent of Silver's Honchcrow floods my senses and I step in front of Valencia just as Glaceon runs up, followed by Diamond and Amethyst.
