"Magma! Use Flamethrower square on the face, but also use smokescreen!" Amethyst yelled out. The Typhlosion shot the flame straight at the training target. If Amethyst squinted, she could see smoke mixed in. The flare exploded in the face of the target, and suddenly everything went black as the smokescreen kicked in. Amethyst grinned. "Yes!! Great job!!"
"Salamence, go! Gust attack!" Amethyst took out her timer as the smoke cleared. "Not bad! 2.17 seconds. You can do better though."
Salamence let out a cry of consent as he lashed his tail. Arcanine darted in front , his turn. "Extremespeed! Go!" Arcanine leapt on the target faster than Amethyst could blink and slammed it backwards, where Salamence hit it with a dragon tail that shattered it to pieces. Pearl and Lucky were looking pretty out of it. "What's wrong, guys?" Amethyst asked.
Lucky grunted, laying down. Pearl sprawled out, yawning. "No. Get up." Amethyst said sternly. Lucky groaned and rolled over. Amethyst put both of the large pokemon in their Pokeballs and sighed, turning around to Salamence. "Don't end up like these dragons, spoiled and unworking. I'm counting on you! Let's go to the PC, I don't think they want to battle." Trainer and Pokemon went back to the Pokemon Center, where Amethyst was greeted with a hug from Green and a kiss on the cheek from Red. Amethyst giggled, and put the two Pokeballs on the rack. She looked to see what other Pokemon she could swap for. Of course! Nidoking and Latios! Two of her most trusted Pokemon that always got the job done right. The swap commenced and the screen was filled with Lucky's beaming smile and Pearl's call of thanks as they ran off to play with Dragonite and Tyranitar. Latios flew around Amethyst, calling happily and rubbing his feathery head up against hers. He flew up to Salamence and waved, then flew circles around Magma and Thunder, who smiled at their old friend. Nidoking towered over Amethyst, but smiled warmly, purple armor shining. Amethyst hugged him happily. "Come on, we got training to do." She smiled.
Nidoking and Latios grinned. "Hey! I'm coming too!!" Green called. "Take care of her." Red said.
"Red, he doesn't need to. I'll be the one taking care of him." Amethyst smiled, and they set off. Green laughed and followed her to the training ground. "Somebody's getting ready for a gym battle." he said with a smile.
"You know what they say, fourth gym's the roughest." As they walked, Amethyst inspected the city. "Oooohhh, Green, look! There's a game corner!!" Amethyst turned in that direction. Green put his arm around her and turned her back. "Amethyst, remember when you were addicted to the game corner in Kanto? We couldn't get you out for days, and they served you all these fruity drinks. I will not let you go back, Red will kill me."
Amethyst sighed. "Whatever. Let's go train."
_________
Red swung Amethyst around in the room of the Pokemon Center. "I miss Diamond." She muttered. Red pulled her into a hug. "Remember, Diamond doesn't want a Magma Life. She'll be back. I'm sure."
"Really?" Gold interrupted them.
"Do you think Ruby will come back too?!" Sapphire and Wally asked on unison.
Red looked a little doubtful, but it quickly faded as he nodded to them. Amethyst heard a snort from Silver, who was sitting on one of the beds with Harper. "Good riddance, I say." He said. Lyra and Lynn punched his shoulder in unison. "Hey!! Ruuude!!" Lynn said. Lyra nodded agreement.
"Who asked you, green streak?!" Silver muttered, referring to the emerald green streak in Lynn's hair. Harper snickered.
"Hey. Don't insult her. The green streak is awesome." Amethyst said to Silver, a hint of anger in her voice. Magma snarled.
Silver sighed angrily. "Why don't you flirt with Red or something?" he asked.
Amethyst gasped in fury. "Idiot!" She insulted him. Lynn in tow, she ran out of the room.
"Come on, let's go to the game corner!" Lynn urged.
Amethyst needed closure and fun,
And she could get that with Lynn at the game corner. "Yeah! Come on." they dashed down the street and past the Bike Shop. Magma chased after Amethyst with some snacks in his jaws. The duo bought coins and sat down at two side-by-side slot machines. Amethyst plopped in a coin and began to play, eyes racing. "WHEEEEEEWWW!!! LUCKY SEVENS!" Lynn exclaimed beside her. The pair raked in cash and coins, losing track of time as they slaked their thirst with a flavor water. Magma reached into Amethyst's glass and pulled out the little umbrella and played with it. Finally Amethyst was out of coins, so she walked up to the counter to purchase more. A loud blast echoed in Amethyst ears and she spun around. The door was being blasted open by a mysterious force. Lynn stood
Up and grabbed Flygon's Pokéball. Amethyst reached for Nidoking's by instinct.
"What was that?!" Lynn exclaimed, emerald eyes darting from left to right as she tried to locate the source of the explosion. Amethyst closed her eyes. She felt the pulsing of Nidoking's heartbeat inside his Pokeball. "Go, Blaziken! Evacuate this place!" A female voice commanded. "Blaaaze, Ekin!!" Was all that the Blaziken said as it leapt out into Amethyst's line of vision. Amethyst released Nidoking's Pokeball and swung her arm,as Nidoking let out a long roar aand glared at Blaziken, a challenge in his gaze.
