Matt's pov
I didn't know much of where my mom has been. I hear from her from time to time. We haven't really seen each other in a while. The last time was when she was living with an old friend. She's never even had dinner with Gabby and I. The wedding is in 2 weeks. I've been sitting on the idea of her coming to the wedding for a couple weeks. Gabby's been bugging me over all of this too. I know my mom should be there. I just don't want to remember my dad at this point. She reminds me of him. I remember what has happened. For me even if I try to forgot, I don't. I think about him.
I met her at this restaurant we used to go to. She smiled when she saw me, and hugged me " Mathew!" I looked at her " hi mom!" We both sat down. and she looked at me " so what's going on..?" I looked at her " I'm getting married..." She smiled " really?... to.." I laughed " Gabby mom... i'm marrying Gabby!" She smiled " of course... you've been together 3 years...?" I looked at her " 6 years.." She looked at me " wow.... really.." I looked at her " the weddings in a couple weeks... we would like if you came.." She looked at me " really..." I nodded " yeah.. sure. it's gonna be small... just family and our close friends!" She nodded " yeah.. i'll come!"
I went home to Gabby. I felt good about lunch with my mom. I feel like I can trust her. Gabby smiled as I walked inside " how was lunch?" I laughed " good! she's coming.." Gabby hugged and kisses " that's so great!!!! i'm so excited for this. It's gonna be nice... all our families together for the first time ever..." Matt kissed me " yeah..."
