I was working. Matt has been back to work for a few shifts now. We've got back to our routine. Everything is just normal now. Were back to the usual us. We have to work with working and spending out nights apart. Were doing what we live. It's only 3 nights a week though. We can do this. That's what I have to tell myself all the time. I'm gonna be 16 weeks pregnant soon. We are getting closer an closer to finding out the gender of our twins. I don't know what to think. I don't know if they are identical or fraternal. I don't know if they are boys or girls, or even a girl and boy!
I ran towards the ER doors, and this was another day. Work was picking up. The EMT's ran in " 24 year old female, 23 weeks pregnant complaining of abdominal pains.." I looked at them " ok let's get her to 3.." We ran fast. This is how we work, fast. I looked at her in the eyes. I saw the fear in her eyes. We transferred her to our beds. This was work time. I looked at her " sweetie.. what's your name..?" She looked at me grasping my arm, holding on tight " Amy..." I held her hand " ok Amy it's gonna be okay... this is Dr. Halstead... and Dr. Rhodes. We'll take good care of you!" Connor looked at me " ok... looks like labor.." He looked at her " Amy.. were gonna try and stop your labor.." I looked at her and saw the fear in her eyes " Amy! Amy! look at me.. it's okay! what are you having..? is your baby a boy or girl.." She smiled in fear " a baby girl!" I smiled " I have a baby girl at home.. and i'm having twins in a few months here!" She smiled " exciting!" Will looked at us " ok labors stopped... let's get her upstairs!"
