Today's the day. I was ready for it. I was marrying Matt. I have been waiting for this day for a month now. We didn't give ourselves much time to wait, but i'm happy it's now. I couldn't wait much longer. I stayed with Shay last night. It was nice because after this things will be different. I will have a husband. Not to say I will never see Shay, but like I will want to be with Matt. I know i'll need some girl time sometime, but for a while I'll enjoy this part of us.
Shay smiled as we were ready to leave " you nervous.." I laughed " no.... maybe!" She laughed " you look great.. hot.. i'd marry you!" I laughed " thanks... let's go!"
We got to the church and it was just our families. It was nice. It was time. I walked down the aisle holding my dad's hand. He smiled " so proud of you Gabby!" I smiled " thanks dad love you!!" I stood there looking into Matt's eyes. I thought to myself " I really am.. I'm marrying Matt!" This is an amazing thing. It was time and we had to say our vows. Matt said his first " Gabby... friends first... that was us and look where we are. I'm so happy and proud of you everyday. You finished med school.. and became a doctor... i'm so proud of you for that. We worked together for a long time... and not having you in the house is sad.. but seeing you work at Chicago Med is amazing! Your so strong and i'm happy everyday I'm with you. I'm hoping for so many more! I love you baby!" It was my turn. I looked at Matt " Matt... i've always loved you. You were always my best friend. If there was anything... I knew I could talk to you.... you have always been there! Your the reason I finished med school and became the doctor I am. You encouraged me to do all that... I'm so happy and thankful for that. I'm excited for our future and to see what adventure is next... I love you even more!"
It was that time. We were asked that question The chaplain asked " matt do you take Gabby to be your wife..?" Matt smiled " I do!" He then turned to me " Gabby.... do you take Matt to be your husband..." I smiled " I do!" We then kissed. It was like the room cleared. It was just us like the first time. Matt and I smiled and laughed. This is love, our love. This is how ready we are for the rest of our journey!
