Chapter 35: It kills me

A burning heat on my leg had me waking up at three in the morning. Panic ran through me when I realized I wasn't in my room so I screamed, a high-pitched one. Like those screams you hear from ghost movies? Then a second later a guy was in my room calling my name, shaking me... Seth? what is he doing here? Then I realized I was at their house, I tried to calm myself down... Breathe Alison, breathe. I tell myself... 

"Ali? What's wrong?" he asked. His voice sounded tired yet concerned. I must've disturbed him from his sleep. I suddenly felt guilty for screaming like a scared kid. 

"Just... a bad dream." dahilan ko, habang hinahabol ang paghinga ko. 

"It's ok... you're in my house, do you remember?" I nodded, "Kumikirot yung paa mo?" tanong nya ulit, manghuhula ba sya? 

"Yeah... but I'm fine"  

"No. You're not fine. Just wait for me here ok? Kukuha kita ng gamot" then tumayo na sya, pero bago sya umalis inalis nya muna yung mga buhok sa pisngi at noo ko, tapos ngumiti sa akin. God why does he have to do that? Ayaw kong maging ganun sya kabait sa akin. Mamamatay ako... mamamatay ako sa kilig! 

After five minutes bumalik na sya sa kwarto na may dalang glass ng tubig at yung gamot. Inalalayan nya akong uminom tapos inihiga na nya ko. He pulled the sheets up and covered me, then settled himself on the sofa placed at the left side of the room.  

I looked at him obviously questioning him about staying in my room. 

"Sleep now Princess... I'm here whenever you need me"  

Hearing those words made my heart beat fast. He called me a princess? Ok Alison, it's 3am... he's just probably sleepy or tired. Don't make a big deal out of it. I tell myself. 

Then slowly... I felt my lids become heavier, then I fell into a dreamless sleep.

I opened my eyes at the bright beam of sunlight coming from the window. Irritated, I pushed myself up and was surprised to Seth still asleep on the sofa, curled up like a baby.  

Lumapit ako sa kanya at umupo sa may harap nya. I studied his face, he looks so innocent when asleep haha. Ang kinis ng mukha nya... mukha pala syang artista? I lifted my hand to feel his cheeks but I stopped myself, baka magising sya. 

Then he slowly opened his eyes and squinted, he rubbed them and stared at me. At first he looked surprised but then a mocking grin shaped his lips. 

"So... did you enjoy yourself watching me sleep?" pangaasar nya sakin. 

"Kapal mo naman. May ipis lang akong nakita noh, tinry kong patayin" I said standing up, but my in-not-so-good-condition leg had me falling forward. Seth had no time to react so I fell right on top of him causing hands to land on his stomach and squish it hard. 

"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" sigaw nya.  

Then there were loud footsteps coming from the other room and the door burst open. 

Tito Armand's jaw dropped the moment he entered the room. 

"Sylvia! Honey, halika dito dali!" Then Tita Sylvia came rushing to the room. I was still half lying on top of Seth so she also reacted the same way as tito did. 

"Mom, Dad... it's not what you think ok? Alison is..." 

"Now your girlfriend! Oh my God sweetie... you have no idea how happy I am!" excited na sagot ni tita sylvia. 

"No! Dad will you help us please?" pakiusap ni Seth sa daddy nya. He knows that wont be able to move because of my leg. 

Tinulungan akong tumayo ni tito Armand, we explained what happened to them and tito believed us... but tita Sylvia was so obstinate that she chose not to.
