I walked outside and fixed my hair. Today was another swim practice day, but an even special day. Today was Haru's and I'd anniversary.
We've been dating since junior high and today was our 4 year, since we are 3rd years. I have no clue what Haru got me but I got him a necklace with a dolphin on it. It has our names engraved on it with a heart around it. I pulled the box out of my pocket and looked at it one last time before slipping it into my pocket. I couldn't wait to give it to him.

I began walking towards his house when I saw Makoto. "Hey Makoto." I said causally while catching up to him.

"Oh hi (f/n)." He smiled and waited for me to catch up.

Makoto, Haru and I have always been childhood friends. We always swam together to, so of course he new about Haru and me dating. "So did you study for the test last night?" I asked.

Makoto nodded. "Yeah." He said. His smiled faltered and his answer seemed... halfhearted.

"You okay Mako?" I called him by his nickname.

He seemed to shake out of his thoughts and responded to me. "Yeah I'm awesome."

I didn't feel like pressuring him on if he was okay so I shrugged it off. We continued to chat until we reached Haru's house. It was only a few seconds though since we all lived so close together.

I knocked on the door and laughed. "He's probably in the bath."

Makoto laughed also. "Most likely." He paused. "I forgot something I'll be right back."

"Alright..." I paused and opened the door. I walked in and set my bag down. "Sorry for intruding." I said while taking off my shoes. I walked to the bathroom and slid open the door. Haru of course was sitting in the tub quietly while playing with his toy dolphin. "Hey. Coming to school?" I joked and walked over to him.

He turned his head and smiled softly. I always loved the way he'd do that when I'm around. It was only around me though, so of course I felt special when he did smile. "No." He responded.

"Well alright then. So not coming to practice and swimming either? In a pool." I added to the end.

His eyes lit up at the word pool so he instantly stood up, splashing water on me in the process. "I'll go get dressed."

I laughed and followed him out of the bathroom and into his room. I threw a towel at him. I picked it up on the way out of the bathroom. "Dry off and get dressed ya merman." I giggled and closed the door behind me. I headed back to the front door where Makoto was standing. "Hey there ya big oaf." I playfully punched his shoulder but he didn't even budge a smile. "You... Okay? You've been acting.... Off...." I frowned.

"(F/N.)" he looked at the floor. "It's just...." He trailed off. "Happy anniversary to you and Haru!" He smiled and pat my head. He's not telling me something.

"Oh! Thanks." I didn't want to push him to tell me what's wrong so I just went with it.

"You ready." Haru walked out from behind me and went to put on his shoes.

"Actually Haru." Makoto stopped him.

Haru looked at him. "Yeah?" He asked emotionless.

"I.... Wanna do it today...." He trailed off.

"Okay. Tonight." Haru said. I looked at them confused on to what they were talking about.

"No. Now." Makoto insisted.

Haru dropped his bag and pulled something out of his pocket. He handed it to me. It was a small black box. "Happy anniversary." He said before picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder.
