Light Peak

My mission. Take down anyone who has been foolishly playing around on the Light Peak. Or so the mission says on the parchment. I walked out of my home and flew to my station.
"Alright, let's get this done!" I called out to my assembled crew. "Our mission is to eliminate anyone who has been playing around in our fields! The Light Peak." I turned and led them out to ready the flight. "Let's go!" We jumped and flew in the air letting ourselves glide as we carefully steered ourselves picking up speed as we went.
The clouds ran away from view as we saw a cliff filled with colors all over its back and the water splashing against the rigid stone from below, the light peak. Nobody knows the true purpose of light peak, but like every name of different locations, I guess it doesn't really matter. Smelling the salt water makes me feel free, but I'm not here to relax, quite the opposite.
As we flew, we saw our target, a running elf, running away from us, he knows what he's done! An angel cocked his head to the elf. I nodded and we dove to the ground to catch our prisoner.
Strange, normally an elf wouldn't come around looking around for anything, they would normally stay at their homestead, why not this one? We landed feet pounding to the floor as the grass and flowers swayed from the impact. We didn't hold our weapons yet as we ran toward the target. I got to the closest and I tackled the elf to the ground to stop them from running.
The elf was a lot smaller than I thought. The elf turned, the elf was a little girl. She looked about eleven. Her face drenched and slippery with tears still streaming, her face red from running. Her hair was all too perfectly tended. She has a staff strapped on her back of her heart pink robe. Her hands were the evidence they needed to know that she was the one "messing" with the Peak of Light. Yet, she was merely a young girl.
"Well, what are you waiting for, Rade? Spill her blood!" I turned to see who said such disgusting words, only to find my best friend, Glaide. He brought reinforcements.
"Glaide? What are you doing here?" I asked quizzically.
"To see if you're doing your duty as commander."
"I don't need anyone giving reports on how well I'm doing!" I objected.
"Maybe, but you are at the loss of actions. Kill her now!" I stared at the girl, her expression breaking as she shook her head. I grabbed my scythe from my back. And swung at my friend. Only, he blocked. I looked behind and said one word that started the violence. "Run!"
The elf did, without hesitation. "Idiot!" Glaide said pushing me aside going after the elf. I got up only to be surrounded by angel soldiers.
"Out of my way!" I ordered.
"The general wishes you dead, pawn!" A soldier said thrusting a sword. I grabbed his grip and moved myself into making him stab himself with my strength.
"Get him!" Another angel called. I ran. Shots fired and some pain etched on my face. Guns aren't very favorable weapons, they can't kill easily, but can make you die slowly if you're not careful. The shot hurt my leg, so I flew instead. I need to make use of my energy while I'm flying. Angels followed me. I shifted my scythe to a sword and counter killed another angel as he disappeared becoming light and fading into reality. I switched the scythe back and threw it killing two more, another as it flew back into my hand. The angels retreated. Now it's just Glaide. I flew as fast as I could. And saw Glaide which he trapped the little elf girl in his grasp next to a tree choking the life out of her. Angered by the picture, I threw my scythe and my anger spilt white in my vision as my friend Glaide screamed by the death of my blade. I caught my scythe and saw the little elf coughing hard, her neck red with imprints of the hand wrapped around her. She held her hands up to her neck and looked up to see me slowly descending from the sky. I placed my scythe behind me as I landed. I looked up, smiled, and collapsed from pain.

I woke up slowly and felt the wetness over my head as I realized the young elf sat next to me and took off the towel over my head. I got up as pain surged through me. I looked over myself, my left elbow and right leg were wrapped up in green fibers as bandages. The small elf smiled and I spoke, "who are you?"
"I'm Flecin, and you are?"
"Rade, nice to meet you, Flecin."
"Same to you!" I slowly retracted my legs together so that I can sit a little comfortably. I saw that my scythe was placed by a nearby tree, obviously I shouldn't have that when resting.
"Why?" Flecin asked suddenly, "why save my life over yours?"
"What do you mean? I'm still alive," I replied.
"Not that," Flecin stated pointing at my badge, "you are a commander, correct?"
"Oh, right," I said realizing that I can't go back. I looked over the peak, no blood can be spilled from Angels and Shadows, so it looked like that battle never happened. I threw the badge on the ground and said, "I guess I couldn't do what I had to do."
"What do you mean?" Flecin asked.
"You are so young, and it doesn't seem right to suddenly kill you for your innocency." I looked at her satchel and saw the flower that she took from the peak. "What is the flower for? I never understood myself, but maybe elves have more knowledge of nature than we do."
She smiled looking down and replied, "they're for my mother, she's gotten sick and these can relieve of her condition."
"Innocent then. At least I didn't have to kill you."
"What will you do now?"
The question stuck in my head. I thought that too when I fought the angels, my comrades. I answered honestly, "I don't know."
Flecin frowned and thought as I did. "How about you come with me to the village? You seem trustworthy knowing that you fought off your own soldiers for me. Maybe you can clear your head since you have nowhere to go!"
Good answer coming out of an an elf who looks like she's eleven. "Alright, but wouldn't the elves dislike me? I know angels have pushed them around, but I thought it was for the better, turns out not and we were just using you."
"Oh no, this isn't your fault, and its not like you can take down the angels, or even the war itself by yourself!"
Then a thought hit me, maybe I can.
I nodded, "maybe, but I think we can!"
"That's ridiculous! There's no such thing as a one man army!"
"Yes, but to maybe form our own. . . it might work! Who knows?!"
"Are all angels like this?" Flecin asked, "maybe we should clear that head of yours."
"I can guarantee, Flecin, it just. . . might be hard."
"Easy for you to say. . ."
I walked over and strapped my scythe on my back. "Well, let's go!" And we walked through the woods.
