"Rade. Rade, wake up. I sense something. . . wrong," I heard Guardian's voice in my head. I came to my senses and got up.
"Is it shadows? Angels?" I asked quietly.
"It's. . . wrong. That's all I can say. . . Very wrong."
I walked towards the spiraling staircase and a lump of black. . . stuff fell to the hard stone floor. If I were a normal person my heart would have exploded.
"Rade!"
"What?"
"That's it! That right there. Be careful."
"Guardian, it fell how many stories?"
"No, this. . . is something. . . someone who's changed."
"Changed?"
The black bundle of flesh opened up and is seemed like it was a shadow. A shadow that has lost its human-like features. The flesh seems melted and bits of black bone were sticking out. A melted face that forms a skull appeared and it's dark mouth opened and let out a horrible shrieking sound like screeching metal. The thing moved quickly despite the fact that there was pretty much no possible way it would go fast because of the lack of. . . limbs.
The hunk of flesh formed a large hand using it's own body and bones. Does this thing form into whatever it wants? I leapt back and the clawed hand damaged the floor. I brought out my scythe and charged forward slicing the hand off then stabbing the main body. The body burned, a hellish fire swallowed the living lump of flesh whole and evaporated into ashes. The ashes floated by and burned my skin making me panic."What. . . was that?" I looked up to see that everyone but Void was up. They must've seen everything.
"I don't know," I said, "we have to see what's going on." I hurried on and flew upwards.
Everything looked like hell. All the grass burned in hellfire and there are more of those shadow blobs, there were also. . . angels? The angels seemed to have gone savage, fighting anyone in sight, including other angels. Even further disturbing, they were all practically eating each other. The bodies turned to burning ash and the angels and shadow blobs turn into ugly deformed beings. I felt burns on my back and I thought it was snowing, but it was all ashes. I cannot handle this horror and flew back. The burns spread where they've contacted and I wondered if my skin would heal. I grabbed my robe and wore it wondering if this can help.
"What's wrong?" Lan wondered.
"Burning ash falling like snow. It's. . . horrible out there," I said.
"Burning ash?" Lily wondered, "ash from what?"
I didn't say anything because not only did I not know exactly, but even if it was true, I don't want it to be true.
"Tell the others to stay here," I said.
"That's impossible! We have to play a role too!" Kika came in.
"But the ash."
"Then we'll just have to find ways to cover ourselves," Xane said passing me and running up the stairs.
"Xane!" I called.
"We'll be fine, Rade. Who do you take us for?" Fang grinned.
It's not that I am underestimating them. I just don't want the worst to happen.
"Let's go then!" Lily rushed.
"I have my tank ready," Caliber said, "those who don't have much cover can come with me."
"On it," Lan agreed. Everyone got out and I had to act too. I don't want them to get killed.~~~
It was like the complete opposite to a snowing winter land. The grasslands are burning hot red colors and angels and shadows took their stand in a savage battle, killing, burning and even eating. I felt something swell up from within me and I barfed. I felt something burning my head and remembered what Rade said. I put my hood up and the burning stopped. Maybe the ash doesn't burn clothes as easily?
"Let's go!" Xane said snapping everyone up back into reality.
"We. . . we can't stay out here. We can't fight like this!" Kika cried.
"Everyone! Get in!" Caliber announced climbing inside the tank.
"This coat thankfully has a hood. I think I'll be alright," I said.
"Wish I had one for this moment," Xane said.
"Be careful out there," Lily said.
"I'll try," I said feeling the sweat rolling down the side of my face. The tank moved forward and began it's attack. I saw the cloaked angel come out from the scion's cave and fly out as well.
All right. Where to? I heard explosions. I looked up and noticed boulders falling down from the mountain. The large boulders landed and became obstacles on the open field. The mountains will be a dangerous place for a vantage point of fire. Wait, I can use the boulders for cover. Ash fell near my eye and it started to burn. I flinched and rubbed my eyes but it felt worse. I breathed quickly trying to take it. My eye felt irritated, I have to be careful looking up. Nobody saw me yet, I hustled forward and put my back against the hard rock. I poked my head up from the boulder and the enemies were all at a safe distance. I noticed some shadows were still somewhat human-like and they had a new kind of weapon. Flamethrower.
Not sure if the tank can take that. There were also some angel snipers in certain areas. They might be aiming for Rade as well. I'm too far behind to warn them. Alright, then I'll just have to act to protect them.I took aim at some snipers up on top of a mountain and noticed they had barrels of powder. The mountains have no fire to blow them up. And if they want to use it, they can cause more landslides. I can't just shoot each angel one at a time. I aimed at the barrel and fired. The explosion meant I hit my mark and I am confident they were burnt to a crisp. I aimed at some shadows with flamethrowers coming for the tank. They had a weak point in their backs which hold the fuel for the fire. I fired and created more explosions, I tried to be careful hoping the explosions don't damage the tank.
I continued my attacks from behind protecting the others. I am doing a pretty good job. I was the grabbed by the leg and I fell down. I looked down to see a shadow blob pulling me in towards its large mouth. I pulled out my pistol from my waist and fired at it. The bullets didn't do an awful lot and its sharp teeth bit down hard. I screamed in pain and saw my left leg bitten off. I cried and ditched my pistol and tried to crawl away, but the shadow was faster and blocked my away and grabbed a hold of my right arm.
And tore it off.
I blacked out.
