Blackened Heart

Lan lead us through the dark woods and we ended up back at Flecin's home village. We all didn't say anything and everybody exited from their homes and the silence grew the further we walked in. I carried Flecin's lifeless body in my arms. Her blood was warm and her body stone cold. I walked at a slow pace and just stared at Flecin's smiling face. I stopped and met with the elder elf.
"Rade. . . You. . ."
"I'm sorry. . . I've failed you," I cried bowing my head to him.
"No, you didn't fail. In war, the closest allies could very easily end up like this. . . Come. Let us have a proper burial for her."
We all walked forward and the village as well.

I walked up to a coffin and placed her within it. The coffin was made of hard polished wood embedded with beautiful gems. If only this coffin's beauty could bring Flecin to life, but this is better than just a normal coffin. The elder elf closed the coffin and that was the last time I saw Flecin's face.
We all helped push back the soil into the hole where we dug for Flecin. One shovel at a time. Once we finished we just stood there staring at Flecin's grave. It was very peaceful. She wished for peace. Now I feel the must for it. For her.

I heard a kick of gravel behind me and pacing.
"Syf, where are you going?" I asked when I noticed him stomping off.
His face looked dark and sad at the same time. "I'm getting back at whoever did this."
"Syf, revenge doesn't solve anything," I explained.
"This isn't revenge, it's avenging!" He gritted his teeth and tears poured from his eyes. "I cannot continue with you, I must go. I know who did this!"
"Syf!" Lily shouted, "I spent my lifetime searching for you! And now you leave me again? Us? For what? For your selfishness?!"
Syf looked up and back with a scary look.
"I. . . I didn't mean that," Lily said. "Would you rather abandon the path to peace to end someone's life?"
"I've ended many lives. . . What would one more do?" Syf said. He turned, "Sorry everyone. It's not that I don't understand, but this is just something I must do."
We all stood and stared.
"Alright. . . If this is your choice, we can't stop you anyway," I said.
"Rade!" Kika exclaimed.
"It's not our choice!" I said, "we're not an official group. Even if we did try to stop him, his anger would direct to us!"
"Syf. . ." Lily gulped.
"Sorry sister. . . Goodbye." Syf walked away on his own path. Thoughts floated in my head thinking if I could have prevented this from happening. But in the end, all the events have been laid out and there was nothing I can do to change it.

"Syf's gone. . ." Kika said letting the thought sink in.
"I understand where he's coming from though," I said.
"What do you mean?" Kika asked.
"Well. Ever since I was disbanded from the Kitaka tribe, I've always had a lingering love for the tribe. When I was with the bandits, it was hard for me to see the other bandit members kill my people. It's hard to contain that, or control it. I veered myself to become a fighter, and now, here I am fighting for peace, with another Kitaka member."
"Zika. . ." Kika drifted.
"Well, Syf is now an unleashed beast. Worst comes to worst, he dies. Something tells me though that Syf isn't thinking straight."
"What do you mean?"
"Hate is a powerful thing. When you lose something you love, you feel despair and the only thing to do is to either end yourself, or end the threat itself."
"You don't think he is going after the black coated elf?"
"If I had to guess. . . yes. . ."

I need to find him.
He will meet his end.
Where is he?

I continued walking in no direction hoping to find answers in the abyss. The dark overshadowed the land and I continued walking even though my tired body is crying to me. My mind roars and whips my body to continue.
"What are you doing by yourself?" I heard the voice behind me. I turned slowly to see a familiar face. It was the eye patch member from Them. His shoulder was wounded from when we last fought them. I eye twitched and I cast flames around me. There were three of them.
The other two acted. One of them charged forward while the other aimed their sights on me with an arrow. I cast an ice spell and formed an ice barrier and blocked a sword swing from one of the attackers. I then held him by the neck and blocked myself using him from the arrow. I threw the body down and shot bolts of electricity at the shooter until he blackened to a crisp.
"I didn't even say anything. . ." The eye patched person said in disappointment.
I reached into my magical pocket and pulled out the sword I've kept hidden for a lifetime. It was a normal blade with a strip of black diamond reinforcing the steel blade. A gift given from my parents when I started out my classes in sword training.
"Tell me where the dark elf is! Or else!" I threatened.
"Whoa there. . . Aggressive? You know, there are better ways t-"
"Shut up. SHUT UP!!! Tell me where he is. NOW!!"
"You realize I can warp whenever I want, ri-"
As soon as he said that I rushed into him pinning him on the floor and didn't hesitate to slit his throat. He gurgled blood from his mouth and suffered to speak. I looked down at the blade dripping red blood from my hand and back at the person I harmed. I raised the sword in both my hands.
"There were better ways of doing this," I said. And I plunged the sword through his heart.
