I took the first swing at him. But no luck. Storm swiftly dodged it by ducking closer to the ground. He quickly gained back his form and was ready for the my next attempt. Even though this was light fighting, a battle you would most likely see at a more professional setting rather than in the streets, it was still intense.
I swung again, missing him once more with another dodge, but to the side.
"Remember what I taught you Nashi!" Rosemary called out to me.
I guess I was paying to much attention to Rosemary's comment because before I knew it Storm was now attempting his first attack.
His hand few past my left cheek. I was only able to miss it by a small margin. But I couldn't say the same for my hat.Storm was able to brush off my hat, letting my hair loose. It now exposed to the sun, dancing in the wind behind me.
"Stay focused, Nashi." Gale commented.
He was right, I needed to stay focused.
I needed to really get into the fight, try my best. I needed to stop with the basics and hit him with something new.In that moment, I remember a move Rosemary taught me. It wasn't anything special, it just was a step up from what I was doing now.
It involved being fast and accurate. I would first rapidly through punches that I know Storm would be able to dodge but I would then sneak a hooking kick to the back of his legs making him fall over.
Winning me the match.
I started with brisk strikes with my fists. Like I predicted, Storm instantly dodged them all.
Now for the kick. I kept punching, stopped for a split second, readied my foot and. . .
Slipped.
The matted snowy ground became icy over the last few days. My foot the was supposed to be firmly latched to the ground so my other leg could strike, slipped.
My whole form became messed up and I was so unbalanced I had to grab onto the closest thing to me so I wouldn't fall, Storm.
Being clumsy old me, I clasped onto Storm making him lose his form and become unsteady too.
Then, out of nowhere, probably because I'm a klutz, we. . . or maybe just me, got so unstable that the ice finally over came us that we fell over.
The both of us landed. . . safely? Nothing bad happened but my cheeks did turn red.
Storm's back was on the icy ground and I. . . on top of him.
I quickly lifted my self up a bit, looking into the prince's eyes.
My cheeks were bright red now, but then Rosemary spoke."And the winner is....." Rosemary began, Storm and I now turning our to her.
"Nashi!" She said with excitement.
"Me?" I questioned in alarm, still not off of Storm yet.
"Yes, to win you had to get the opponent on the ground first, right?" She said with a smirk.
"And you did."I looked back at Storm to see his reaction to all of this.
"Congrats." He said with a smirk.
A smirk. . . but. . . oh!
I quickly jumbled off of him and stretched out my hand to help him up, cheeks still red with embarrassment.
He grabbed my hand and jumped up.
"Interesting tactic Nashi, didn't see that coming." The Prince said walking around me.
I watched as he walked past me, picked up my hat, and walked back over to me.
Standing in front of me he look down into my chocolate brown eyes, and, I, into his robin egg ones.
He lifted his hand to my face. Gently brushing my cheek, smoothed a few of my hairs behind my ear.
"Your hat, my'lady." Storm spoke gently, handing me the old, leather hat.
"Thank you." I chirped, excepting the hat, not looking away from his mesmerizing eyes.
