~Nashi's POV~

"I've been waiting for this day, this moment for so long! I can't...I just can't....I'm so excited!"
I heard Wendy chant menacingly.

With ropes now around Mine and Juvia's neck we waited for our end to begin.

This platform had a convenient Death Valley road for the people dying on it. All one had to do was pull a lever on the side pole to let the ropes fly and are necks...snap.

I gulped at the thought of it.

This was where I was going to die.

I squeezed Juvia's hand tighter for the fear that had washed over me.

Did I really want to die here?

I wouldn't be able to be in the arms of my Mother or see the shining grin of my Father. I wouldn't get the chance to apologize to Nash or have another tea party with Sylvia. I wouldn't be able to truly meet Lord Gray or see the moment where Juvia would return to her family. I wouldn't be able to look into the bright blue eyes of.....Storm again.

Storm.

"Lady Juvia?" I said with tears in my eyes.

She quickly turned to me with eyes of desolation.
"Yes dear?"

"Your son...has the most arresting eyes." I said with tears traveling to my chin.

The queen smiled at my comment.
"You should have saw them when he was born — Full of innocence and jovial.
It was like that his whole life. Storm was so high spirited in his younger years. Sylvia liked that about him. But then....in more recent years, his unsullied character was gone."

"How so?" I said, tears subduing.
I wanted to talk about anything but what the future held for us.

"Well, My dear son was one to stay close to home, to family. But now, he has a habit of wanting to go out and see the world. Almost like he is searching for something missing in his life." She said sweetly.
"I don't stop him from his search to find meaning in his life. But our little family does miss him when he does go. The one that misses him the most though would be Sylvia. She loves Storm, she loves that big brother in her life. Him being gone all the time though has really upset her though. My dearest Gray also misses his son, I can tell. And yet, he does nothing to stop him. Those two are not as...close as I'd wish they'd be. I guess no one can have a perfect family, can they."
Lady Juvia laughed weakly after her remarks.

I guess every family has there struggles.

"My family isn't perfect either mi'lady." I told her.

"What do you mean? Such a kind angelic young lady like you must have come from such a lovely little family." She said calmly.

"Well my family is quite a humble ensemble but it still has its flaws. When I was little I was part of a prefect little family, mother, father, old brother. It was all grand. But it changed as I grew up. Eventually my Father slowly became more and more busy with the kingdom that I couldn't spend much time with him. My mother was helping within the castle walls, working away at anything she cold help my father or the servant she with. My brother....Jude....passed way.....well at least I was told he passed way." I said gloomily.

"What do you mean 'told' ?" The bluette queen asked.

"I was....when I was little, supposedly my brother passed away suddenly from an illness. But recently a young man, part of the escort I had to your kingdom, stated he was my brother, Jude. He told me he had to leave, faking his death, so I would be next in line for the thrown."

"Do you believe he is your brother?" Lady Juvia asked sincerely.

"I.....I want it to be. All the clues point towards his conclusion."

"Then he is." The queen chirped confidently.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because eyes are the window to the soul, and yours...are wide open."
