~Rosemary's POV~

It's. . . quiet.

The halls were so quiet that ever step you took could be heard without interruption, breathing clearly heard from the both for us, heavy from anticipation.

What's going on here?

It's almost like nobody is here. . . in the building. There was so many people outside, I expected plenty in the building, a man behind every corner. But it's quiet as a mouse.

Gale and I were now on the second floor. We went down a good sized stairwell and now we stood in a hall with two doors at each end.
Both doors being on the same wall right in front of us. The only thing lighting the space we were in was the glass window behind us.

"Which way?" I asked, looking to Gale for direction.

"If I remember correctly, the quickest way the map had shown was left." My green haired friend replied, pointing to the door to the left of us.

"Sounds good to me." I chirped moving over to our designated door.

I grabbed the large metal handle and pulled the oak door open. A sharp cool breeze emerged from the dark room.

"Are you sure it's this way?" I question before entering.

"Well, it won't hurt to try even if I am wrong. . . hopefully." Gale said walking into the blackness of the room.

". . . Okay." I sighed, surprisingly nervous.

The two of us entered the large room. I couldn't really tell what this room was used for. It was so dark that one couldn't see their hand in front of their face.

I could only assume Gale was only a few feet way from me, fiddling with something in his back.
Only about 30 seconds later a small light filled the room.

"Light." Gale said next to the source of the light. He was holding a hand torch, newly lit.

"Where did you get that?" I asked, moving slowly into the light, squinting my eyes so they could adjust.

"Torches line the walls. I just borrowed one."

"Oh okay."

We continued on down the long room. Now having light I could tell this was another storage room much like the one we were in upstairs.

Metal shelves filed the room, holding crates of, what I believed to be, easily stored, food supplies; the light smell of all of them gave it away.

"The door leading to where we are suppose to be should be just ahead." My partner said from a few steps ahead of me.

I nodded and continued to follow the light.

After a few moments of walking we almost reached the end of the room.

CREAK.

Gale and I both turned to the sound projecting from the other end of the room.

"Wha-" I began in a hushed tone.

A small amount of light illuminated from the other end of the room.
But before I could even see what was happening on the other end of the room, like it was before, became dark. Only our torch lit the room.

The only thing I could think it was projecting that light would be the door. But does that mean someone found us? Are they in the room with us?

I looked in the direction of Gale.
He didn't seem alarmed at all.

"Come on." He muttered, turning and walking in the other direction. Back the way we already came.

"But why?" I whispered in concern.

"Just. . . come on. We are needed."

~Storm's POV~
      {A few minutes before Rosemary's POV}

I didn't like the fact that I was leaving my comrades behind, but it had to be done if I wanted to save Nashi.

I made my way through the hall and up a staircase.
I hope this is the way to Nashi.

Though, I'm pretty sure this was the work of Wendy, I know she's not the worst person in the world.
When I first met Wendy, she was a very kind and positive person, always smiling no matter who you were.
She was a perfect match for my uncle.

I'm glad Uncle Romeo found someone like Wendy. She was one that could see the light in my Uncle, putting a side his dark past and habits. Seeing him for the person he really was.

My uncle seemed happier when with Wendy.

And she was happier with Romeo.

But now. . . my Uncle is gone.
And Wendy is still here,

Alone.

I reached the top of the stairs and looked around the second floor. Now standing in an empty hall, two doors on each end — same wall, I looked to see which way I should go.

I waited for a second, taking in everything around me.

Then it struck me.

Why is it so quiet?

Remaining as still as possible, I listen for any sign of life around me.
None.

Was anyone even here? Was this even the place that Wendy has been? Is Nashi even here in the building?

My head filled with confusion, sorrow, and anger.

Storming to the door on the right, I swung it open in an increasing rage.

But nothing. Always nothing.

All that was there was darkness.
I slammed the door and began to pace the floor.
I need to calm down. . . but I couldn't.

I tried the door on the left.
Upon opening it I saw something that brought hope to my heart.
A light was shining at the end of the large room behind the left door.

Somebody must be in there! This could be the way to Nashi!

But then again. . . maybe not.

I waited there for a few seconds. What was I going to do if it was a person at the other end of the dark room? Fight them?

I pulled out my sword from it sheath. My reflection could be seen on the blade.

I looked into my boring blue eyes; eyes filled with pain and regret.

If this. . . if this is all in vain. . . then why continue? I mean, we don't even know if Nashi is in here or not. What if we fought, hurt people, hurt Reiki. . . for nothing?

Anger and rage clung to me again. My face creased in distress.
I lifted my sword and. . .

WHACK!
