"Aleena, where are you?" I heard.

"Seth?" I turned around, looking for him.

"Where are you? Why haven't you come for me yet?" it echoed and whispered through my mind.

"No, no! Seth! I am coming for you!" I tried to run in one direction, but I couldn't move.

"Too late." Another voice said. "He's gone."

"No…no…no…"

"Aleena!" Alice yelled, shaking me awake.

I gasped.

"Alice?" I looked for her.

"I'm here, I'm here."

I looked her in the eyes. "I…had the weirdest dream. Or, nightmare, actually."

"It's okay. It was just a dream. It's not real." It seemed like she was trying to convince herself more than me.

"Alice?"

"Hmm?" she started messing with my hair distractedly.

"Are you all right?"

"Of course I'm all right. Why wouldn't I be all right?"

"For starters, you're messing with my hair." She instantly quit and put her hands in her lap.

"What does that have to do with something being wrong?"

"I didn't say anything was wrong. I asked if you were all right."

She bit her lip and avoided my gaze.

"Alice."

She started picking at her perfectly manicured fingernails.

"Alice." I said sternly.

She finally looked at me. She had a sad look on her face. I looked her in the eyes over my glasses.

"Yes?" she said innocently.

"Did you have a vision?"

She pursed her lips.

My eyes widened. "Did you?"

"Maybe?"

"Alice! What was it?"

"You…"

"What about me?"

"You went after Seth, and…"

"And?!"

"That's all."

"'That's all.'? What does that mean?"

"It means that when you go after Seth," she looked me straight in the eyes. "You won't come back."

"Like, I join the Volturi?"

She shook her head.

"I…" I gasped. "Die?"

She nodded her head.

Shocked, I put my hand over my mouth.

I tried to hold back the tears, but I just couldn't. Soon, I was shaking with body-wracking sobs.

"Aleena? Aleena! Calm down!" Alice put her hands on my arms, trying to soothe me.

"Alice! I'm going to die, and you expect me to calm down?" I yelled through the tears.

"No, dammit!"

I stopped and looked at her.

"Good. You stopped crying."
