"I have read their thoughts." Aro said. "It is the truth. You are too powerful to be a vampire."

I felt like dancing.

"However," Alec said. "You are a human who knows entirely too much about us."

"That's not her fault." Seth said, being halfway held up by Emmett. His right arm was bent at an odd angle, the bone pressing against his tan skin.

"What do you mean, wolf?" Aro asked.

"Aro." Someone outside of the room said.

Aro sighed. "Yes, Marcus?"

Marcus walked in. "May I say something?" he asked.

Jane rolled her eyes and Aro nodded.

"Of course, brother."

"I've seen the strength of their bond through your descriptions of what the girl has done for the wolf, and vice versa." He looked at Edward and Bella. "I have to admit, Edward; their bond is even stronger than your and Bella's. and it will only grow stronger with time." Marcus smiled, nodded his head at everyone, and left.

Aro touched his shoulder as he passed, met his eye, and nodded, a grin on his face.

Seth, the Cullens and I stood or sat there quietly, waiting.

Aro looked from Seth to me.

I stared at him, trying to understand the grin on his face.

He clapped his hands, startling Seth and I.

"You're all free to go!" he exclaimed.

"What!?" Jane and I said in unison. We glared at each other.

"Master, what do you mean?" Alec asked.

"Marcus was correct. I read his thoughts as he left. The girl— "

"Aleena." I said.

"Aleena is part of our world. She cannot expose us without exposing herself."

"I wouldn't expose you anyway!" I walked over to Seth. "I won't risk losing my boyfriend." I looked at the Cullens. "Or my family." Then something hit me. "Mom!"

I looked at Esme. "Where's my mom?"

"At the hotel."

Aro cleared his throat. I looked at him.

"What is your mother's name?"

"Michelle. Why?"

He sighed. "Jane."

"Yes, Master?"

"Bring her in."

"Yes, Master." Jane walked to the door and beckoned to someone out in the hallway.

Two vampires I didn't recognize came in, holding my mother.

My birth mother.

I was suddenly filled with rage.

"Babe." Seth said, then gasped in pain. "Carlisle, my arm is healing wrong. Can you rebreak it?"

When the bone snapped, I snapped.

"How could you?!" I yelled at her.

She looked at me. Her eyes widened.

"Aleena?" she whispered.

I walked to her, glaring.

When I stopped, she smiled.

"Aleena." She breathed.
