"We have to go back to Volterra." Alice said, looking directly at Aleena. "Now."

"Well," I said, moving to stand next to Aleena, "you're not going without me."

"Seth!" she said. "I'm not putting you in danger again!"

"I'm older than you." I said. "Therefore, you can't stop me."

"Only by —"

"You can't legally stop me, Aleena. You know it."

She glared at me, but closed her mouth and crossed her arms.

"Told you." I smirked at her.

"Alice." She whined. "Tell him he can't go." She looked at her. "Please?"

Alice shrugged and shook her head. "I can't control him. Sorry."

I smiled. "I'm going."

"And so am I." Mrs. Wilson said. She stepped up beside me. "I've got to find your biological mother, Aleena. She has to know about you."

"What's there to know about me?" Aleena said. "That I'm a freak? Some kind of weirdo who can take vampires' gifts?"

"No." Mrs. Wilson stepped closer to Aleena. "She has to know how wonderful and beautiful you are."

I nodded. "Agreed."

Aleena looked at me. "You're biased."

I shrugged. "So? Doesn't change anything about you."

"Yes it does, Seth!"

I shook my head. "How?"

She rolled her eyes. "You imprinted on me, right?"

I nodded.

"Therefore, I could be super ugly, and you'd still think I was beautiful."

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "Aleena." I said as calmly as I could manage. "I'm going with you, and there is nothing you can say or do to stop me."

I heard her take a deep breath and sigh.

I peeked through my eyelashes at her.

She had her jaw clenched. "Fine." She said. "You can go. But that doesn't mean I'm happy about it."

I grabbed her arms in my hands.

Her jaw still clenched, she opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Thank you." I said.

She just ground her jaw. "Mhm." She said sternly.

I hugged her still body. "I love you." I whispered.

That got to her. She wrapped her arms around me. "I love you, too."

Still wrapped in my arms, she turned to Alice. "When do we leave?" she asked, leaning back into me. I tightened my hold on her.

"Saturday."

She nodded, her hair tickling my exposed chest. I shivered.

She must have sensed that the movement tickled me, because she kept doing it.

"Aleena." I said, trying not to laugh.

"Hmm?" she said, still moving her head around.

"Can you—can—stop doing that!" I finally sputtered.

"Stop doing what?" she asked innocently, still moving her head around.

I finally moved my hands and held her head in my hands. She grabbed my wrists and tried to pull my hands away from her head.

She grunted in frustration.

"Ha!" I said. "I'm still stronger than you."

She stopped. "You really think so?"

I caught on. "No groin shots." I said quickly.

"Oh, it won't be a groin shot." She said. And then elbowed me in the gut. Hard.

"Oof!" I said, bending over and grabbing my stomach.

She then proceeded to knock me to the ground, and start tickling me.

I happen to be ticklish.

Extremely. Ticklish.
