Prologue.

Ivan's POV

"Mabuhay! Welcome to Caseña. Have a nice stay, Sir!" The stewardess greeted. I just casually nodded at her and walked straightaway. I didn't know may airport na pala ang Caseña. Better.

I have to admit that I missed Philippines. Hearing people speak Tagalog is heartwarming. I had to leave the country years ago and ngayon lang ako nakabalik. They're both doctors and they want me to be like them but we're not like those cliché stories that the child doesn't want to obey their parents because being this and that isn't what they want. I also dreamed of being a doctor since I was three.

"Dude nakalimutan ko yung laptop ko." Atom wiped his face with his peevish look while pouting.

"Tanga mo kasi. Bumili ka nalang ng bago sa mall. Busy ka masyado sa lover girl mo." Air taunted him. These two jerks are starting to brawl again like kids. Atom has this kind of stalker that followed him almost all the time sa States. Now he's in relief dahil nakalayo na siya kay lover girl who he loathes.

"Nakalimutan ko lang. Shut your mouth Airon or I'll definitely kill you right now." Atom acted like he was about to punch his brother.

I turned to Gio and he's just looking at these two eggs with his forehead creased like he's the one who's problematic.

I snickered. "Stop it."

Air and Atom are brothers, Atom is a year older than Air though we're the same batch. They're my bestfriends including Gio who's also my cousin.

We all studied abroad together for our med proper and internship. We took our board exam there last year and we passed. And yes, we still had to undergo more hell work before we finally became residents. We're all about to start working as licensed doctors, fucking take that.

We're fresh and still young kahit na ang tagal naming nag-aral. 26 except for Air who's still 25. Medical schools are stressing and will kill you. We didn't even have time for girls. Maybe Gio did but whatever.

The only good thing is we did survive and we'll start our residency now. We feel proud, actually. But there's one more good thing that I almost forgot, we were awake almost the whole day studying but we still look fucking good. So good.

"Call a cab." Utos ni Atom kay Air. "Una na kami."

Gio and I nodded at them. They also have no one to pick them up dahil parehong nasa London ang mga magulang nila. Mine are in China 'cause my Papa is chinese and he just won't leave Shanghai for anything.

Si Tita Nene lang ang kasama ko dito sa Pilipinas when I was still in high school and in college. She was my yaya and my second mom. I don't know why my parents sent me here after sixth grade sa halip na sa China ako mag-aral. I only see my parents once a year or every two years. We're fine though.

She asked.

"Sakay na kasi. Get your ass in here." I hissed at Gio.

"Hindi na po Tita. My driver just texted. On the way na." I refused. Parating na din siguro yon. Siya yung dating driver nina Mama at Papa and will just pick me up.

"Oh okay."

"Ingat." Gio offered a fistbump and I accepted it before they left.

I answered the call when my phone suddenly rang.

"Ser Ivan, nasiraan po ako e."

"Matagal ba yan?" I asked while trying to keep myself from the sun.

"Oho Ser. Pasensya na po kayo, mag-taxi nalang ho kayo magpapatawag pa po ako ng mekaniko e." Hindi na ako sumagot and just ended the call.

I can't stand with this so much heat.

"Wala bang aircon?" I asked with begging eyes.

"Wala ho ser, sira."

Pumikit ako and tried to calm myself. "Sa Lagne Vista. Pakibilisan nalang, kuya." I opened the windows wide para pumasok ang hangin. Malayo pa ang condo mula dito so I decided to take a nap kahit sobrang init. Seriously, Philippines? This is your welcoming present for me, huh.

I just wish the condo is what I expect it to be. Big enough, comfortable and nice. I bought it online just a month ago. I loved how the glass wall was designed.

Minutes later and I almost cursed when something hit my face while I'm asleep. I think the wind flew this thing in here. My forehead creased as I stared at this paper. This is a size of an ordinary blank notebook's sheet and I still got to notice the penmanship. It's nice.

Curiousity got me so I quietly read what's written. "Yung mga bituin sa langit. Tinititigan ko sila habang iniisip ka." Sabi sa isang line. That's futile. Yeah I stare at them sometimes. But I'm not being romantic every time. I turned to the last part and it says, "To my soulmate, see you someday."

Destiny, huh? I don't believe in her. I think she's just made up of those hopeless romantic people who are waiting in vain. Why don't they just make a move so that what they're hoping will happen? That's just it. That's the only way. Only way.

I looked for anything na makakapagsabi kung kanino to pero walang nakalagay na pangalan. Letter A lang.

I wonder who wrote this? I'm not sure if this is a girl or what pero malamang, sa paraan ng pagsasalita niya, it's a she. I wish I could meet her to tell her about reality.

To you A, see you someday.
