My mother taught me long ago to kneel when I pray,
To bow my head and fold my arms when I speak to God each day.
And when I address my God on high I speak so reverently
To show Him how I love Him and what He means to me.
My father taught me to listen for God's answer to my prayer
And that I may not like the answer, but God is always fair.
He blesses me and others with every breath we take
As well as many other things of which I partake.
I am very grateful to my Heavenly Father dear
And I am blessed to be able to speak to Him through prayer.
