The Epitome of Rainbows

You can't see a rainbow
Until you face the rain
My face is covered in the tears
I cried from the pain

It should have seemed so obvious
And yet I was deceived
I saw what my heart wanted me to
That's the truth that I received

So when reality came crashing in
My world came crashing down
And without the love to balance life
I became surrounded by the clouds

I can't see anything past my hand
That I hold in front of my face
It reminds me to take one step at a time
This is a stroll and not a race

And I will walk out of these clouds
This pain will come to an end
I'll breathe in the air and see the sun
And I'll see a rainbow again
