I Lost It

When you have something special, you treasure it.
You keep it safe, you take pleasure in it.
And then you meet someone who means the world to you.
And you want to share this treasure with them too.
And everyone says "wait!" but they don't explain.
Just expect you to hold onto that treasure and not complain.
"But I don't want to keep it to myself anymore!"
If you say that be prepared for scorn.

Well, I shared my treasure with someone else the other day.
I didn't listen because I didn't want to wait.
And while I know that everything will still be okay,
The sharing becomes better when you wait.
