The sun nested along the horizon for the last time of the day; stretching its rays and warm, luminescent colours across the sky, to kiss and calm the ocean's temper before it was time to rest.

As the colours slowly began to dissipate the wind notched down to a gentle breeze, soothing the waves below. The sand embedded with memories; footprints of both young and old, accompanied by their small companions that travelled alongside and ahead.

I sat on a cliff that hung above one end of the beach, letting the cool, salty air brush across my skin and intertwining itself through the knotted curls in my hair.

For once, everything was quiet.
