Why is it, that when I look up at the stars, they remind me of the constellation of freckles, sprinkled across her soft pink cheeks?
That every time I wake up, the warmth from the sheets remind me of her embrace, and the way she held onto me tightly refusing to let go. Or how the morning chill reminds me of her cold fingertips as she tauntingly pressed them onto my cheeks, forcing me to feel how cold they were once we retreated to the warmth of the car. When my father tells his stupid little jokes, I always remember her cute laugh and the tears she got from laughing too hard.
Why is it, that every time I hear her favourite song, I hear her voice singing along? Even though she wasn't the best singer, I loved it when she sang along with not a care in the world.
Why is it, that every little thing reminds me of her?
