He glared down at me and spoke in a low growl.
"You make it so damn hard to be a father, you know that?!"

I sat silently,
not a word dripping from my lips -
staying quiet, the only thing I'm allowed
to do.

I looked back at him expressionless...

A father?
Since when have you ever been a father?
A father doesn't belittle, nor verbally tear down the self esteem and worth of his own children.
A father doesn't break his children emotionally, mentally, or physically.
A father does not criticise his children, nor take satisfaction from their fear of him.
So, I'm sorry that I have no respect for you.
I'm sorry I have nothing good to say to you.
And I'm sorry, but a father to me, you are not.
