Hi! Im Electra Black and I am about to go to Hogwarts for the first time. I’m a little older than you would be usually, im thirteen. As you may have guessed I am the daughter of the infamous Sirius Black. I resemble him, with thick jet black hair but my mothers blue eyes. I never did know my father; I was too young to remember him. All I know is that he cared for me when my muggle mother died when I was born. When he was sent to Azkaban he requested that I was placed in the care of a fellow marauder, Remus Lupin. Remus has been like a father figure for me since I could remember. I have grown up in the world of witches and wizards and all sorts of magical beasts. As soon as I was seven I decided to train to be an animagus, I can transform into a black jaguar , to help Remus during a full moon. I had always adored the shiek apperance of a jaguar and they are fast and tricky much like myself. Before coming to Hogwarts I studied at Beauxbatons academy of magic. It was Remus’s attempt to keep me from getting hurt at Hogwarts because of people talking about my father. But where ever I go I will always be followed by the name Sirius black, the murdering psychopath. I was expelled from Beauxbatons thanks to a prank that went completely wrong and ended up with an entire bath room in shreds. As soon as Remus got offered the job as defence against the dark arts teacher he took it. This meant I had to enrol in Hogwarts. I would rather have gone to Pigfarts but I’m sure it’s nice in Hogwarts too.

“Electra come on, were going to miss the train!” Remus calls up after me. I can’t believe I have to get on a train with him. It’s so embarrassing. My trunk was already in the boot of Remus’s muggle car, he bought it specially to go to kings cross. Midnight my silver owl was screeching in the kitchen. I made my way down the stairs as slowly as I could. I stumbled into the kitchen where Remus was making burnt toast very quickly. He was wearing his usual brown suit with his little cloak I love to make fun of. He spun around, brief case under his arm and a piece of toast in his mouth.

“Ready?” I think he said underneath the burnt bread. He looked me up and down and smiled approvingly. The uniform wasn’t as bad as it was at Beauxbatons so I guess that was a blessing. Since I was not sorted in any house yet my clothing was quite plain. I had a plain black robe that reached my ankles. I had no jumper but only a crisp white blouse, which I suspect won’t be white for long, a grey skirt just above my knees, white socks and red converses. I grabbed midnight’s cage and made sure my wand was in my pocket. As we sat in the car Remus offered me toast, to which I shook my head.

“Why so quite young lady?” he asked me trying to keep an eye on the road. I folded my arms.

“Why do I have to go to Hogwarts? Why cant I be home schooled or something?” I protested. He rolled his eyes. This was not the first time I had asked him this question.

“Because I am teaching there, and Hogwarts is a excellent school.” He said.

“Then why didn’t you send me there in the first place?” I mumbled under my breath. We drove for about five minuets before I started up the conversation again.

“So how are you going to handle…you know the werewolf thing?” I asked. He gave a half smile but before he could answer I started again, “Do you want me to still come with?” I asked.

“No, you concentrate on your studies. Don’t worry about me, I can handle it myself.” He said, cross that I had brought it up. I blew out breath, annoyed. “Don’t worry im sure you will fit in fine and you have always got me to talk to.” He had to remind me.

“Oh yeah and don’t take it the wrong way but I would prefer it not to sit in the same compartment as you on the train.” I said squeezing my eyes shut expecting to get a mouth full. Instead he nodded.

“I understand you need to get to know people.” He said winking.

“And I don’t want to sit next to a old teacher.” I replied making him laugh. He nodded and took a bite out of his toast. The car pulled into kings cross station.

“What’s going to happen to the car?” I asked as we got out and hauled my trunk out of the back. He gave me midnight and said,

“A friends going to look after it for me, Arthur Weasley, his fascinated with muggle’s and there objects” he replied laughing. The big clock said ten to eleven and we rushed off to platform nine and three quarters. I saw loads of people dressed in Hogwarts uniform dash by, followed by nagging parents. Remus stopped me in front of a wall. I looked bewilderedly at him.

“Through the wall and quickly.” He nagged. I stared at the wall. A line of gingers floated past me and disappeared into the wall. Remus moaned and pushed my back towards the wall. I was bracing myself expecting to crash. But I didn’t. I was in another place. A huge red steam engine stood in front of me. Children were running wild getting on the train saying goodbye to there parent’s. Remus came up behind me. “Come on.” He said taking midnight and my trolley. I followed him weaving in and out of frightened looking children. Once my things were loaded Remus hurried me onto the train. As soon as the door closed behind us a whistle blew and the train started to churn. I turned around to say good bye when Remus hugged me.

“See you later old man” I said jokingly. He punched me gently on the arm.

“Be good, and don’t get yourself expelled again. It took a lot of work to get Dumbledore to let you in Hogwarts!” he went on. I nodded and he scruffed my hair up. I hated it when he did that. Remus parted from me in an opposite direction and waved as he disappeared in a compartment. The train was in full swing now. I slid along the train trying to find the emptiest compartment I could find. People stared at me as I passed, surly they had heard rumours I was coming to Hogwarts. I found a near enough empty cart and knocked on the door. I slid it open,

“Do you mind if I sit down here? Every where else is full.” I asked with a smile. Two ginger twins sat there looked up and smiled. They were identical in every way.

“Sure!” they replied in unison. I sat down far away from them, trying not to disturb there talking. They did the opposite. They squeezed up to me.

“So.” One said.

“What’s your name, new?” the other finished his sentence.

“Im Electra Black.” I said expecting them to wince at the name. They did not seem to care.

“This is Fred.” Said one of them pointing to the other.

“No, I’m George that’s Fred.” Said the one claiming to be George. I chuckled to myself.

“Quite the pranksters.” I stated they nodded in agreement.

“The best of the best.” They said together.

“We will see.” I muttered. “So which ones which?” I asked. Before they could start there antics again a smaller ginger haired boy stood at the door, he looked about my age.

“That ones Fred.” He said pointing to the one sitting next to me, “and that ones George.” Pointing to the other. “Have you seen Scabbers anywhere?” the boy asked his brothers.

“aww you ruined our fun Ron, and no we have not seen your rat!” George said and shewed the boy out. As the door closed a flash of purple burst out in front of my eyes and the whole corridor of the train was stained purple. The boy Ron was covered in it. I looked at Fred and George who were both sniggering. I started to join in with there laughs. I guessed they were behind it. They looked at me in surprise.

“What?” I asked, “I love a good prank myself.” They looked at me mouths open. I got up and reached for my bag. There faces lit up as I opened it to reveal the tricks of my trade.
