-Britt's POV-
I heard the door to our flat open, but I didn't look up, just kept concentrating on the hard math problem I had to do for one of my college classes. I've been trying to balance that, Liam being gone, and planning for our wedding...and of course, handling Alexa's always adventurous attitude. It's been....stressful...to say the least. And it doesn't help that my parents have seemed to go back on their happiness about my wedding. Which....kinda sucks. They think I'm...to young....
I honestly don't care what they think. I'm getting married, whether they like it or not......or maybe.....no. I am doing this. Whether they like it or not. It's my life. Not theirs to control.
My mind quickly drifted back to my conversation with my mom last night."But-" I started and my mother sighed over the phone, cutting me off.
"Listen Brittany." She said sternly. I winced at my horrid full name and thought, oh no. Here it comes. "Your father and I thought you would have a long engagement. Not......this short. You can't possibly get every thing done for the wedding by December!" She exclaimed and I sighed, running a hand through my hair, suddenly missing Liam. Why are mothers so frustrating?
"I can if you help me!" I said, my voice rising in exasperation.
"Listen honey. I support your engagement. Really I do. I love Liam. He's sweet, a gentle man, and he saved your life from those horrible people. I trust him. " she said and I sighed, defeated.
"Then what is the problem?" I asked, starting to get mad.
"I still think you are way to young to get married. Maybe...if you wait a year...?" She asked and I clenched my jaw. I bit my lip and pulled my fingers through my hair.
"Mother." I said stern, my voice hard and rigid. I never call her mother. "I am marrying Liam. Whether you and dad like it or not. I love Liam with all my heart and I can't wait to marry him. Please.....please...please...come to help me pick out a dress. I want you there. It wouldn't be the same without you. I love you and I want you there." I pleaded, making myself cringe.
"Honey. I love you too....but I think you need to reconsider this decision." She said and I sighed.
"But-" I started, but she cut me off again.
"I'm done talking about this Brittany Renae. This conversation is over." My mother said harshly. The dial tone cut me off and I sat there in silence....reevaluating my situation. Why can't people just....cooperate?Arms went around me quickly and I jumped, dropping my pencil to the floor with a pitter patter sound. I looked back and relaxed when I saw Liam. I don't know why he still insisted on scaring me......I always was jumpy but more so after I got kidnapped.
"Gosh Liam. You scared the crap out of me." I sighed, leaning back into his chest as he hugged me from behind. He leaned his head on my shoulder and handed me a new pencil. I continued to scribble on the paper, while he watched, planting a couple kisses on my neck and my cheek. I smiled as I continued to write.
"How do you do that?" Liam asked as I moved to another problem.
"I honestly have no clue." I answered, getting confused as I started a harder problem.
"You're so smart." He whispered in my ear. I shivered.
"You are too." I said as the door opened. I looked up to see Mackenzie hobble into the room, with Niall trailing behind her closely. Liam scoffed, reminding me of what I just said.
"psh....I didn't even pass geography." He snickered and Niall smiled.
"I did!!" He exclaimed, obviously proud of himself.
"Shut up Niall. You probably ate your book." Liam shot back. Niall frowned and flopped on the couch, Mackenzie sitting down next to him. She poked his lip, which was poking out as he pouted at Liam.
"It's true babe." She said to him and I laughed, getting up and out of Liam's arms. I walked behind the couch and hugged Mackenzie's shoulders.
"How are you?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Missing having time with GIRLS. I'm so sick of these two." She admitted, motioning between Niall and Liam. Niall rolled his eyes and Liam looked up, his face a fake mad.
"Hey!!!" Liam yelled and I laughed. Niall smirked at Mackenzie and leaned over to tickle her. She screamed, her laughter ringing through the flat. I smiled at them and gasped when Liam picked me up from behind, spinning me around, before setting me down. I laughed a second, before my mother's and mine conversation about the wedding.
"Hey Liam?" I asked, suddenly being serious with him. I've always admired at how we could have a very adult conversation if we needed to. The smile dropped off his face and he frowned.
"Yeah.......is...something wrong love..?" He asked nervously and I sighed, watching his nervous face and grabbing his twisting hands in mine.
"Not....really." I replied heavily. He nodded and glanced at Mackenzie and Niall, who were already all over each other.
"Calm down you too!! You'll hurt each other!!" Liam yelled over Mackenzie's giggling and screaming as Niall tickled her. They seemed to ignore Liam and continued on fighting each other.
"Niall stop!!" Mackenzie squealed. Liam just shook his head and pulled me into our room, shutting the sound of laughing out when he shut the door. He turned to me and grabbed both of my hands in front of me, looking me directly in the eyes.
"So...what's wrong?" He asked, immediately reading my mind. I am amazed at how we can do that. Ever since I've gotten my voice back, I've had times when I don't even have to say anything and Liam will know.
"Nothing.....it's just....my mother called last night....." I trailed. He frowned, biting his lip cutely and scrunching his eyebrows together.
"And......." he trailed, waiting for me to answer. His thumb rubbed over mine as I sighed.
"They think we're too young to get married. She.....she won't come to help me pick a dress." I whispered, my voice dropping off from disappointment. I wouldn't cry, no. There's other things to cry for. This isn't worth crying over.
"Is there....anything I could....say to them. Could I talk to them?" Liam asked, trying to be helpful.
"I don't think so hun." I said quietly as I moved one of my hands to his cheek. I ran my fingers over his small beard and smiled suddenly.
"I'm sorry. I wish I could do something." He whispered. I shook my head and leaned in to peck him on the lips gently.
"You know what? I'm okay Liam. You don't have to do anything. I love you and I'm going to marry you. I don't care what my parents, or your fans, or anyone else thinks about it." I said confidently. He chuckled and kissed me gently.
"I love you." He whispered. I smiled.
"I love you too." I replied.
"Soo.....I have one question. " he asked and I rose my eyebrows.
"Yeah?"
"Where do you want to go on our honeymoon?" He asked quickly and I tilted my head, thinking. I have literally no idea.
"Erm....I dunno. Please don't spend a whole butt load of money on me Liam. We've already spent quite a bit on the wedding. And this ring....." I trailed. He rolled his eyes, shaking his head.
"I am not worried about money. I will take you anywhere in the world!" He exclaimed and I giggled at his expression.
"Surprise me." I whispered. He laughed, shaking his head.
"Whatever you want." He answered back.-Alexa's POV-
"Hey Harry." I said as I saw him sitting on the couch, on his phone. He nodded in my general direction, not looking up from his phone.
"Where's Kendall?" I asked as I pulled my phone out of my pocket.
"She went to go see Kenz and Niall. They're back." He explained. I nodded and headed out the door without another word to Harry. I walked into their flat without knocking and was immediately grabbed around the waist. I jumped and looked behind me quickly, seeing Louis behind me. I relaxed instantly and he laughed.
"Scared?" He whispered. I shook my head and pulled out of his grasp.
I ran up to Mackenzie and hugged her tightly, having missed my best friend.
"I've missed you." I said and she smiled over my shoulder.
"I missed you. Every thing going okay?" She asked over my shoulder. I nodded. I heard Louis huff.
"Hey. Step off Kenz. She's my girl. " Louis spat sarcastically and I laughed as Mackenzie pulled away from me.
"Shut up Lewis. You know she'd prefer me more than you. I'm prettier. " She replied hastily as she flopped down on the couch.
Louis immediately picked me up and threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"EVERYBODY WANNA STEAL MY GURLL. EVERYBODY WANNA TAKE HER HEART AWAYYY!!!" Louis sang at the top of his lungs as he carried me out the door.
"Louis. Put me down." I ordered as he proceeded to carry me back to our flat.
"As you wish my love." He said. He dropped me on the ground and I winced as I fell to the ground on my butt. He smirked at me and I shook my head angrily.
"You will pay for that." I growled. He laughed and smirked.
"Gonna have to catch me!!" He laughed as he took off running. I hope I'm still as fast as I used to be........
"With. Pleasure." I replied as I took off down the street after him. Isn't he the one who wondered why we were always in the same situation? Well, he totally set himself up for this one.
