«wedding day»»
-Britt's POV-
"Britt....baby.....wake up." I heard Liam's low voice coo in my ear as he rubbed his hand on my back.
"Dear Lord. What time is it?" I groaned into my pillow.
"Erm...five in the morning. You asked me to get you up...remember?" Liam asked and I nodded slowly.......remembering and silently cursing myself in my head.
I slowly sat up and rubbed my hand over my face, starting to wake up. I sat up all the way and saw Liam, sitting Indian style next to me on the bed. He smiled, his eyes lighting up with love.
"Good morning." I said, running a hand through my knotted, long, blonde hair. His smile widened as his eyes twinkled, making my stomach go wild with butterflies for today.
"By this time tomorrow.......we'll be married." Liam whispered, grabbing my hand gently in his and pulling it up to brush past his lips. He slowly kissed my knuckles and I sighed. Seeing him so relaxed and cute made my stomach flutter with love.
"Are you sure you want to marry me?" I asked. He shook his head and chuckled, blushing.
"I was sure a long time ago." He replied. I frowned and looked down at our intertwined hands. His thumb moved across my skin, idly stroking it.
"How long ago?" I asked. He looked down, biting his lip, trying to hold his smile as he looked back up at me.
"Do....you remember when you and I went on a picnic...?" He asked and I immediately smiled. Looking back, that was one of the best dates ever.

««flashback»»

"Where are we going?" Liam whined from the passenger seat as I drove us out into the country.
"I told you!! It's a surprise!! You always plan out our dates....why can't this one be spontaneous?" I asked and he sighed. I actually had it planned out. One day....after my boyfriend broke up with me, after I met the boys...I went driving by myself. Stumbled upon a pond. I kinda....made it my own. It's...beautiful. No one knows about it accept me. Not Mackenzie. Or Alexa. No one. I want to share it with Liam. Just because I love him that much.
"As you can tell.....I'm not exactly a spontaneous person." He admitted. I laughed and he chuckled.
"That makes two of us." I said and he nodded.
"Can you at least tell me what we're going to do.....?" He whined and I sighed, looking at him as I grabbed his hand in mine while I drove.
"Let's just say it's a good thing you wore your swimming trunks." I said and he smiled.
"We going swimming?" He asked and I half nodded, half shook my head.
"Kind of."
"Kind of?"
"Yeah." I answered. He didn't ask anything after that....staying silent as I drove. We finally got there and I pulled the car off to the side of the road. The familiar field was now filled with flowers, making me smile. Liam looked at me as I got out of the car and opened the trunk, pulling out our food. Liam got out of the car as well and smiled as I came and grabbed his hand, standing next to him.
"Where are we.....?" He asked, his face full of confusion. I smiled and pulled on his arm, leading him down the small hill, which led to the pond. I ran down the hill as he followed me. I laughed as the wind blew through my hair. He caught me around the waist, picking me up. I giggled and dropped the picnic basket to the ground. He stopped spinning me and laughed, looking at the trees above our heads, which shaded us from the sun.
"This is beautiful love. How did you find this?" He asked and I pulled out of his arms and sat on the grass. He sat down across from me as I looked around above me. The trees let some light through and I saw some birds in the trees, which made me smile.
"It's my hiding place...from everywhere. From....everyone and everything." I whispered as I layed down on the grass and watched the squirrels chase each other through the trees. Liam laid down next to me and grabbed my hand. The birds sang and the sun shone.
"I've....never shown anyone this..." I whispered. He turned his head to look at me.
"Really?" He asked, I didn't answer. I sat up and stood up, pulling him with me. I pulled him over to a tree, which was overlooking the pond. I had attached a rope to it, to swing into the water. Liam rose his eyebrows as I quickly climbed into the tree.
"What are you doing?" He asked nervously. I grabbed the rope from a higher branch and felt the familiar feeling of the rope between my hands. I smiled and bit my lip as I looked down at Liam, who was watching me closely, trying to anticipate my next move. I can tell he'd never see this one coming.
I sighed and gripped the rope more tightly and swung off the branch, letting my feet dangle in the air as I swing over the water. I let go of the rope and splashed into the water quickly. My head went underneath the surface and I popped my head up, to see Liam staring at me with wide eyes. I ran a hand over my hair, pushing it out of my face.
He began to laugh and I did too. Laughing at his expression. "Your turn!" I said and his eyes widened.
"No. No way." He said, backing away from the water. I laughed and shook my head as I swam over to the bank and climbed out. I was already somewhat covered in mud, so I stripped off my cover-up, which left me in my bikini. Liam shook his head at me as I stood up, walking towards him.
"Come on Liam!! It's fun!!" I said and he shook his head again, smiling.
"No. I'm good."
"Come. On!!" I said as I caught his arm. He slipped through my wet fingers and ran behind a tree. "You can run..but you can't hide...." I said. He laughed and started around the trees, with an chasing him. I finally caught him and jumped on his back.
"Get off!!" He said, laughing.
"Not until you promise to try it. "
"Fine. I promise." He sighed and I dropped to the ground. I pulled him over to the tree and pointed at it.
"Climb." I ordered and be winced. "Fine. I'll teach you." I said. I taught him where to put his feet and climb the tree. I climbed up first and pulled him behind me. We both stood on the branch, me behind him, holding the rope. I handed it to him and he gulped.
"I'm going to die." He whispered, his puppy dog eyes getting to me. I laughed and hugged him from behind. He twisted the rope in his hands, looking at the water below.
"You won't die. You'll be fine. If I can do it...then you can." I replied. He sighed and looked back at the water, then back at me.
"Remember me?" He asked and I giggled and let go of him. I made sure he had a firm grip on the rope.
"You worry too much!" I said as I pushed him off the branch. He screamed and gripped the rope, but didn't let go. I burst out laughing, almost falling off the tree in the process. "You're supposed to let go!!" I laughed as he clung to the rope with a scared expression on his face.
"Nah...I'm good here!" He said back nervously. I laughed as his grip slipped and he fell into the water. His head popped up above the surface. The rope swung back to me and I caught it, swinging myself back into the water, jumping in next to him.
"Was it really that bad?" I asked and he rolled his eyes.
"We shall never speak of this again." He whispered, pulling me against his chest. I giggled and kissed him, hearing the silence around us.
We both got out of the water and dried off, before sitting down again on the ground. I sat next to him, our feet dangling in the water. This place was so calming and so quiet. So...romantic? I've never noticed it before.
"Out of everyone....why did you bring me here?" He asked quietly. I laid my head on his shoulder silently and sighed.
"Because....I love you......and I wanted to share this with you..." I whispered. He sighed and closed his eyes, before kissing my head.
"I love you so.....much..." he whispered. I looked at him. There was something....different in his eyes. I couldn't read it. It seemed like...unconditional love.....
"I love you too Payno." I whispered. I fell asleep there, with my head on his shoulder. The birds chirped happily around us. Everything was....perfect. I wish everyday could be like this.....

««end of flashback»»

"Yes. Of course. That was....amazing." I replied, chuckling at the memory.
"That's when I first knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. To share something...so special with me..so meaningful....I knew then. I knew you were the one for me." He whispered. Tears came to my eyes and I put a hand over my mouth. I hugged him tightly and he smiled, burying his face in my shoulder.
" I love you so much."
"I love you too. More than anything." He answered.
I pulled away and he smiled and kissed me slowly, long and sweet. I melted before pulling away again.
"I should go get ready."I whispered and he nodded. I got up and he sighed.
"Britt?"
"Yeah?" I asked as I turned around to face him again.
"This is going to be the best day of my life." He whispered. I blushed and smiled.
"Me too." I agreed as I walked into the bathroom. I can't wait for today.
