One Day earlier...

Infected:
Ryder Slade

The pain, I first felt it in my head, like a massive headache of a hangover. What the hell did I do last night, I rolled over and realized I wasn't in my room. I looked around the bright white room. There was lights, the bed, a toilet and a door to what I assumed was a bathroom.

Was I in a really clean jail cell? Fucking neat freaks, I was in new clothes, a military outfit. As if they didn't trust my clothes.
I rubbed my head while still lying in the soft bed, I realized something, who were they? Where the hell was I?

The memories of last night flooded into my mind. I remember late last night the crowds of people trying to get out of the City. When I got home Jayce, my brother was already asleep. So I turned on some TV, and the news was speaking of a rare disease, not seeing it as a issue I had to deal with right then and there, I decided to go to bed. But I didn't want to go completely unprepared tomorrow, so I placed my five seven handgun in the trapdoor under the carpet.

While I was sleeping, someone broke into our house. I herd the bangs of gunfire, the shouts of terror. And I woke up to someone grabbing me and biting deep into my left shoulder, they tore the flesh off, right down to the bone, I tried to let a scream out but it was as if I was in far to much pain to even comprehend what was happening. I turned on the man, and I felt the animal inside me come out, I punched the man in the face with a right hook, knocking him off my bed and onto the floor, I jumped up ran over to my closet where I grabbed a baseball bat, And held it in my hands. I saw the man get up and turn on me. I was ready to attack, I was ready to kill him. But I couldn't, my vision began to get to blurry and my legs gave out from under me. I fell to the floor, saw the man drag himself toward me, I heard my door get slammed open, as someone shot the man through the head with a gun.

And that's all I remember...

I was lying in the soft bed, looking up at the ceiling, I rolled out of bed, and sat up with my legs hanging over the edge, I found the cold tile floor. The Big iron door (which I assumed was locked) swung open, and people walked in. Two were doctors, who instantly without a word, starting taking my heartbeat, blood pressure and such. One older man who I assumed was the neat freak behind all of this. held his hands behind his back and asked me. He had grey hair ontop of his head, and wore a decorated military uniform.

"How are you feeling?" I was confused at first. How am I feeling? I honestly found that funny, I answered

"Let's start with who the hell are you? Or what the hell is going on? Or why am I here? Or how I got here? You could've asked anything else, you ask that?"

This man, had the funniest little smirk on his face.

"Yes, sorry. I assume you don't remember anything from last night?"

I shook my head.

"Let me explain then, An Infection was spread through the world over the course of a few days. This infection makes people very hostile towards others, With no way of stopping it in a effective manner, the government closed all airports as of yesterday. Sadly it was far to late. The Infection started maybe a few hours away from Central City, where we found you. The Scientist here are from the CDC, along side our scientist we have five people with medical training. Our Scientist has developed a temporary cure for those infected, and has identified that to get infected you must first be bitten by someone who has been infected. This temporary cure will prevent you from becoming violent and will keep you alive. In other words, drink a cure everyday or you die! Then, well, come back" The man finished.
