Chapter Forty Nine

The Risen Pt.1

"This is it" I whispered.

We stood at the bottom of the docks, I had Dante and Cassi by my side.

Frost and his men were nearby, preparing for the plan. 

"Yup" Dante spoke.

We were looking up to the mansion, this Mansion had it's own island, along with a small town with the mansion at the top, and this was the kicker.

Above the mansion was a portal, a large purple swirling portal with lightning shooting out of it.

"So, what is that exactly?" Cassi asked.

I shrugged.

"No idea, but after zombies, cures, Ryder's weird personality shift, all the people that died and not to mention the weird day dream I had yesterday along with the vision I had after I touched the torch, this is just another day in the appoclypse for me." I spoke holding the torch in my hand.

"Oh, it's a torch! I see now" Damon spoke walking from the ships over to us.

I turned my attention away from the portal, and towards Damon.

"Yeah, it's LED battery powered, but um, it doesn't work anymore" I spoke.

"And your vision told you to bring it because?" Damon asked.

I shrugged.

"No idea, maybe it'll be our good luck charm or something" 

Frost walked off the ship and towards us.

"Hello Jayce, and others" Frost spoke walking over next to me.

"How are we sure your brother is here?" Frost asked waving his hand towards the mansion.

I looked up to a women in one of the crows nests of the ship we arrived on.

"Hey Nicole, use your sniper, do you see anyone up at the mansion?" I yelled up to her. Nicole aimed her sniper rifle up to the mansion. 

"Yup, there's a whole army up there, hold on I think they-" Nicole's scope on her rifle smashed to pieces as they fired at her, the bullet went through the scope and then right through her eye, she fell from the crows nest and into the water below dead.

"NICOLE!" Frost shouted running towards the water.

suddenly gunfire started raining down on us, as we all jumped to cover.

Damon and I hid behind a metal crate together near Frost as he cried into the water.

"Was he close to her?" I asked Damon trying to yell over the gunfire.

"Nicole was the Commanders daughter" Damon loaded a machine gun and blind fired towards the turrets and gunfire from the mountain and the mansion.

I looked over to Cassi and Dante, who hid behind another metal crate, but on the opposite side of the dock. 

"Cassi, Dante take team B and continue the plan, sneak around the back, we'll provide cover fire!" I shouted.

Dante radioed to team B and I radioed to team A.

On the count of three, we all charged up, Team A opening fire and advancing while Team B sneaked around back to follow the plan.

Other then the turrets, so far the plan hasn't changed. Damon and I, along with Team A ran up away from the docks and into what appeared to be a market at some point, we hid behind the nearest cover we could find, keeping the cover between us and the moutains leading up to the mansion, as that was where the turrets were.
