Dante
I held the shopping cart with baby Beatrice in it, following around Betty in the supermarket."So, you said Rielly is coming over for dinner tonight?"
I nodded.
"Yup, so buy extra, he said he's fine with whatever"
"Alright" Betty spoke picking out potatoes for dinner tonight.
I looked down to little Beatrice who had brown hair and blue eyes.
I rubbed her head and kissed it.
We walked down a few more rows without speaking.
"Should we have steak?" She asked looking at a meat selection.
"Nah, I can get something" I spoke referencing my hunting.
She turned towards me.
"Dante honey, you know I don't mind deer, or rabbit or whatever but we're having guests over" she clearly didn't want me to go hunting.
"It's Rielly? He doesn't really count as guests hon, we see him almost everynight" I spoke "he'll be fine with whatever, he said he'd be fine with whatever!" I proved.
We began to yell.
"I just don't want you out there, it's dangerous you know that" Betty spoke.
"No Betty what I did as a Soilder! That was dangerous!" I yelled.
People started walking past us, some stared at us, we were causing a scene.
"Honey, what you did for our country was great, but when you came back you weren't yourself, you were always out there killing animals and for what? For fun?" Betty remained calm.
"Yes! Hunting is totally normal Betty! Lots of people do it!" I shouted.
"Dante, not the way you do it, you hunt, you don't work, you come home and you don't speak to me, you used too. After the war, you were a different man" she, as always remained calm, she was good at that keeping her cool.
"I work! Hunting is my job!" I shouted.
She shook her head.
"No Dante it's not, you knew why, the people you sell it too aren't, they aren't legitimate"
She was talking about Scotty again, I'll admit Scotty had issues and he wasn't a company but he paid me to hunt for him due to his injurys.
"What about Rielly huh?" I yelled.
"What about him?" She asked.
"You never complain about Riellys job! You only have problem with mine" I shouted.
"First off, Rielly has a actual job, after he came back from the war, same as you he got a legitimate job and made legitimate money. Second off it's not my place to complain about Rielly cause he's not my husband!" She spoke, she sounded angry now, but she still didn't yell.
"Well, maybe if Rielly is so damn perfect, maybe you should be with him instead!" I shouted.
I stormed off and walked towards the outdoors section of this supermarket.
I needed something to blow my money on, I needed something to take my damn mind off of that fight.
Betty and I will work it out, we always do.
I stopped in the hunting section infront of a brand new black stained compound crossbow that came with black steel arrows tipped with dark green feathers.
