Tour Of The Tank
Jayce"This room also happens to be where you'll will be staying! At least for tonight, we have a extra bedroom on the upper floor, but you'll have to decide who gets it" Bobby Explained.
We all stood in the metal walled room filled with lines of bunk beds. This is where Dante, Ryder and James were kept while I was being held for questioning.
"Why can't we have the room tonight?" Max Asked.
"We're clearing it out, it was our storage room, but with all of you being our new arrivals we're moving everything to the main hub, which is also acting as our kitchen and eating area."
The rest of them just carried on, Bobby led me around the Tank, he showed me the various rooms that they have here.
Although the inside mainly consists of bedrooms and the main room, and of course hallways, it was the outside that was amazing.
They walled off the entire Tank, surrounding it in a steel pillared wall all wrapped in barbed wire. The front gate also acted as a look out nest.
Outside of the gate was the pit where they had me for questioning.
Around the side of the Tank was a nice ocean side view, and even a small farm with strawberries, corn, tomatoes and potatoes! Currently not enough to feed all of us, but possibly enough to feed just Kiera and Bobby for a few days.
There was also a gate on the side, which led out to a dock.
This was truly a master spot for fishing.
"This is my personal favorite spot of the tank!" Bobby said gesturing to the leather lazy boy chair on the dock.
"What if that gets wet?" I asked.
He shrugged."Does it really matter? I mean the dead walk the earth, I don't really care if my chair gets wet!" He smlied and sat in the chair.
"Ever been fishing?" He asked.
I nodded my head."A few times, when I was younger. The house we lived on was near a creek. Although it was my sister who always..." My voice trailed off.
He stood up and placed his hand on my shoulder, this brought me back out of my nightmares.
"Yo, sorry man you ok?" He asked.
I shook my head, and stared out to the ocean.
"We've all lost people, I get that. But I don't even know what happened to them. Or even if they died." The sunset was setting on the ocean, it was beautiful. So why could I only think about ugly things, the ugly horrors of the world I am now forced to live in.
Bobby started walking away.
"Jayce, take a breather. You are safe now, I'll go and get everyone settled." He called back.I sat in the lazy boy chair and watched the sea.
The sunset was truly magnificent, I wish everyday we could be as lucky as we were today.I sat for what felt like years before I felt someone walk onto the dock.
Kiera walked by and sat on the dock, she dipped her feet in the water.
"Beatiful isn't it?" She asked.
I nodded my head, then realized she can't see me.
"Yes" I replied.
She turned her head back to me.
"So what's the deal with that biker guy?" She asked.I'm assuming she meant Dante, I rolled my eyes.
"What did he do now?" I asked.
She looked back to the sea."Nothing, he's done and said nothing since you all got here, his he ok? Or does the leather just make him grumpy" She asked.
Dante was in a dark place right now.
"No, he lost his friend to the bandits. Give him time" I assured her....
Ryder Slade
Bobby seems like a really chill dude.
After he helped all of us get settled in our bunks (which didn't take long as all we had we're backpacks filled with weapons and food) he brought us down to what was a storage room, but it was so small of a room that we can't possibly use it for everything we have."Anyways I figured I should let the three of you take a look, there's alot of leftover weapons and other junk that Kiera and I just have no use for."
Bobby led Maya, Max and I down the hallway of the Tank, he led us to a small storage room in the back of the tank.
There was no windows and since the generator didn't link up to this room we used flashlights.
The entire room was lined with a thick layer of dust.
The three of us started going threw boxes and bags of stuff.
Bobby stood at the doorway.
"Find anything?" He asked.
"Nothing as of yet." I called back.
"You said there was weapons down here, what kind of weapons?" Maya asked.
Max was digging threw various bags of clothes.
"Guns, mostly heavy duty stuff, Kiera and I are still figuring out how to use snipers and pistols, let alone some of the stuff we have down here."
"Sweet!" Max Called back.Max was in the back corner of the room, next to a dark gold tux.
"Max? You can't be serious!" I smlied.
He was checking the size."Dude! It's my size! This was meant to be!"
"Max, I'll shoot you if you wear that thing!" Maya said laughing.
Even Bobby smiled as Max tried to put it on. Map tripped trying to put on the pants and fell into the boxes.
Mutiple weapons slid out of the boxes, one caught my eye.
There was a heavy duty sledgehammer and a ppsh-41 assualt rifle, it had it's round magiazine and everything.
"Oh shit!" I screamed like a boy on Christmas.
Maya turned to Bobby.
"Why didn't you bring James down here? With all the stuff down here I'm sure he could make something useful?" Maya asked.
"Already did, a hour ago, he's trying to make a zombie detection system as we speak." Bobby smlied.
Maya turned and started going through the boxes, she found a new rifle with cases of bullets. And a Katana!
"What is this doing down here?" She asked, holding the Katana in her hands, she took the sword out of the hostler.
Bobby shrugged his shoulders.
"I dunno, as I said there alot of stuff down here. Kiera and I even found a kids doll down here, the thing was creepy as shit so we burned it." Bobby reajusted his goggles which he wore on his head over his winter hat.
Maya wore the Katana on her side, and the rifle on her back.
"You know how to use a katana?" I asked Maya.
Maya shook her head. "Nope, but it's just a sword"
"Maya, I've heard those have a bit of a learning curve" Bobby Explained.
Maya shrugged, she'd probably like the challenge anyway.
Max finally got on the tux, and it did fit him quite nicely. I grabbed the sledgehammer and the ppsh and walked out.
Bobby, Maya and I waited for Max who tripped over a weapon.
"What's this?" He asked.
He picked up the curved blade of a sickle. He threw it into his backpack.
"What are you going to do with that?" I asked.
"Other then farming? Kill a few zombies probably, I used a sickle alot before I met you, it worked quite well before it broke, although now I may have time to make it strong enough to last for a long time." Max stood up and walked out of the storage room.
We all follwed Max, as Bobby closed the door behind us.
