The Festival
DanteI walked into the gate as Carter opened it for me.
The festival was starting, the sun was going down and a few of the events have already ended.
The dance was starting up and I decided to trade in the game that I found and then head to my tent.I walked into the market, and handed the meats and skins over to the trader, he gave me the amount of points that I earned and I turned to walk towards my tent.
"Yo! Dante!" I heard a voice call.
I turned to see Damon standing at a bar, next to him was Jerry and Ace.
"Get over here!" He shouted.
I didn't want to, but for some reason, I did.
I walked over to them and they handed me a beer.
I sipped it slowly.
"So, Dante, tell us about yourself? You know before this hell?" Ace asked me with a slight slurr.
He looked to be the drunkest out of the bunch.
"I think what Ace meant was that we all want to get to know you people better!" Jerry said.
There were two women walking past us, and they both starred at me with disgusted faces and they started whispering to each other.
Ace watched them as they left.
"Well, see you later boys, Daddy has work to do!" Ace said walking after the two women, nearly tripping over his own feet.
"Well, I was married before all of this!" I started.
Jerry and Damon raised there eyebrows at me, and they looked at each other.
"Really?" Damon asked.
I shurgged my shoulders. "What's so surprising?" I asked.
Damon smlied and drank his beer but Jerry answered.
"Nothing, just wouldn't have guessed that for you, for how long?" He asked.
"Nearly two years." I answered sadly.
Damon nodded his head sadly.
"Any kids?" Jerry asked.
"One, she was nearly eighteen months old before this happened" I answered.
I started fading back to that moment, but I pushed it away.
"Hey! You! Fuck you man!" A slurry voice yelled in my direction.
I turned to see four drunk men all looking at me with angry faces.
They were all bulky with muscles, but I knew I could at least try to take them down.
I handed my drink to Damon, who just finished his.
I walked towards them.
"Sorry, I must've heard you wrong, what did you say?" I asked.
"Fuck you man! Ace shouldn't have taken you lot in! Your gonna ruin what we have here!" He yelled.
A slow song started to play as the dance was starting, these men were all giving me dirty looks.
And I punched the first one right in the face, he fell over and landed on the pavement, out cold.
"Who's next!" I yelled taunting the other three, one stepped forward but Shadow ran in between me and him, growling.
Cassi appeared in front of me clearly trying to calm me down.
