The Lost World
JayceI stepped out of the large truck that I rode shotgun in on the way to Central City.
We picked up Cassi a few hours ago, and all was fine, Jeff was in pain but otherwise alive, and both Cassi and Shadow we're ok.
Frost's scouts reported that Ryder and his men seemed to have left the Chruch all together, due to the fact that we have no idea where they could've gone we decided to go into Central City and search for more weapons and supplies.
We set up our trucks to act as barricades at a intersection. Some of Frost's men were preparing camfires for the night ahead.
There was going to be four search teams, each of two or three people.
Dante and myself was one of those teams, we left Cassi with guarding Jeff again, she didn't like it but at least this time she wasn't alone.
I placed a knife in my shoe, and loaded my five seven pistol. I swung a pickaxe into a custom hostler along my belt, as Dante approched me.
"Hey" I spoke tightening my boot.
"Hey, you ready?"
I nodded.
"Nearly, just finishing up" I answered placed my now tighted boots on the ground.
"Let's go" I spoke as we turned and made our way out of the camp.
"Jayce!" I heard Frost call from behind us.
Dante and I turned around to face Frost.
"Be back before night fall? We may not be sticking around after that" Frost warned.
"Yeah, alright, I have a radio so just call in if you decide to move on, channel four right?" I asked.
Frost nodded.
"Yeah, channel four"
"Alright, wish us luck" I turned around and began climbing the ladder of the truck that acted as the barrier.
I jumped down to the street below and raised my pistol.
Dante jumped down behind me and had his crossbow ready in his hands loaded. He had his tomahawk strapped to his belt, the one he called Betty. He also had a knife in his boot, and the revolver that Ace gave him at his side.
After a few minutes of walking it began to become awkward slience.
"So, um, where are we going anyways?" I asked.
We're careful navigating around the smashed cars, broken signs and lamp poles and of course the bodies of the dead.
"No idea honestly, we'll just keep going and see what's interesting I guess" Dante shurgged taking the lead instead of me.
"Ya, alright" I spoke checking our surroundings, with it being all clear, I spoke.
"So, how long have you and Cassi been...um together?" I asked.
Dante stopped, and just looked forwards away from me.
"I didn't think you knew about that honestly" Dante began walking forwards again.
"I mean, you guys are kinda obvious. Sure you don't do anything in front of the rest of us but you talk alot, if you weren't together I would've figured you at least had a moment or something"
Dante chuckled.
"Can you believe that we're actually talking about this shit during all this, who's gonna be with who all that stuff. It's pointless nowadays, I like Cassi"
