Brothers to the End Pt.2
DanteKiera led the push to get the zombies out of the church. We already cleared most of the inside, and Jerry and Charity were leading teams to set up a barraciade to keep the rest of the zombies out, Maya was badly injuryed so we let her lay down in Aces trailer until this was over.
The rest of us stood in front of the what used to be the south gate, fighting zombie after zombie as it came towards us.
Cassi raised her bow and fired at a nearby zombie, the wooden arrow got stuck in it's skull, and as it staggered back do to the impact from the arrow, Shadow would charge at it and knock it down. Cassi ran up to the zombie and finished it with another arrow.
Ace slid around and under the zombies and while they were distracted on him, Kiera would run up behind them using her knife and finish them, it was risky, but nobody complained, especially because it was Ace.
Damon and I opened fire from the barraciade, Cassi and Shadow to our right, and Kiera and Ace to our left.
Was it possible that we would be able to defend against the herd?
That's when a huge group stumbled out of the woods.
"Everyone, together, against the barraciade!" Kiera ordered.
We all backed agasint the barricades and swapped to knives and close weapons.
As they came we chopped them down, staying in careful formation we hacked and slashed for nearly ten minutes before we began to see the ending of the herd.
At this point, Jerry, Charity and a bunch of others have joined the fight, we killed the zombies one by one, together as a team, as a community.
We finished the herd, with no accidents from anyone getting bit.
That's when the last zombie stumbled out of the woods.
He was a larger man, at least seven feet tall, and he wore big heavy football gear.
"Ahhh!" Ace yelled as a battlecry as he charged the zombie.
"Ace no!" Kiera shouted trying to warm him, but it was to late.
The zombie grabbed Ace, and Ace tried to slide under the big zombie, but he got stuck.
The zombie was on him now, Ace was lying on his back, with his hands on the zombies shoulders trying to keep it from biting him.
"Not everybody help at once!" He shouted from under the zombie.
Shadow, Cassi and Damon charged in.
Damon smacked the back of the zombies helmet with a club.
But this only pissed it off as the zombie smacked Damon away, sending Damon flying back at least fifteen feet and into a tree.
What was this thing?
"Hey! Help!" Ace yelled.
I stood next to Kiera, I watched the zombie for a weak point, as I aimed with my crossbow.
I fired at his helmet.
The arrow bounced off the helmet.
"Shit!" I yelled reloading my crossbow.
"The helmet is to thick to get to the Brain!" I told Kiera.
She had her hand on her chin, clearly thinking of how to take this thing down.
"Maybe try getting closer?"
Shadow bit onto the pantleg of the large zombie as Cassi jumped onto it's back with a knife in one hand.
