What Remains
Jayce

The sound of the truck motor was the only sound I could hear. I was riding shotgun in the truck next to Bobby.
Maya and Ryder sat in the back of the pick-up truck.
We each had a backpack full of weapons, food and varies tools for the mission.
We were nearing Fort Black, and since we didn't want to attract to much attention we had to stop the truck.
We hid the truck behind a tree, and covered it in Branch's, this should at least be enough for anyone else driving by not to notice it.
"We got everything?" Bobby asked us.
I was equipped with my white hoodie, black jeans, a old pair if mountain climbing boots, my pickaxe, Ryder's good old five seven handgun, and a rifle on my back.
Ryder wore a rifle as well, but also had his new ppsh-42 and a long broadsword on his back.
Maya wore her sniper rifle with a long scope and stock, along with her new Katanna on her side.
While Bobby wore his winter hat, goggles, and the same get up he wore when he was asking me questions in the Pitt, his clothes was lined with knives, he wore a rifle on his back as well, but also had two pistols and a hammer strapped to his backpack.
"Probably should've asked that before we buried the truck?" Asked Maya jokingly.
Bobby nodded his head in agreement "ya, your probably right, come on let's get moving!" Bobby turned and started light jogging into the forest, the rest of us followed him, with Ryder taking up the rear.
We climbed up the mountain, it was practally a rock climb, as the mountain was really steep and we wore harnesses and everything.
As we were strapping on Bobby turned to us and asks.
"Have any if you done this before?"
Maya nodded her head "a few basic drills, plus my Dad was a military Major"
Bobby turned to Ryder and I.
"Ryder's done it more then once, I have very limited experience" I answered.
Bobby reminded me what to do and what not to do.
We started climbing.
I followed Bobby, Maya was behind me and Ryder once again took up the rear.
After a minute of climbing i asked Bobby.
"So we're strapped to each other right?"
Bobby without looking at me answered.
"Yeah, but don't you dare let go, if one of us goes down it's likily we all-" Bobby would've finished his sentence, but both him and I were pulled down quickly and suddenly by someone falling.
I looked down and saw dust and pepples falling from where Ryder's foot should have been.
Maya was hanging on to the mountain for dear life, as we all were.
"RYDER, FIND A FOOT HOLD!" Bobby gasped.
Ryder swung towards the Mountain and landed on it.
I felt the pressure lighten at Ryder found where to climb again.
We started climbing.
"What happened?" Asked Maya.
"I'm carring alot of heavy stuff, the foothold just fell, and I fell with it!" Ryder answered "sorry"

...

Bobby made it first and he tied another rope to the top, as he has been placing them here and there, just as a backup in case if we all let go.
Bobby began pulling me up, with one of us at the top it certainly made this go by quicker.
I made it maybe thirty seconds after Bobby, and it didn't take long before Maya, Bobby and I were pulling Ryder up onto the top of the mountain.
We all laid down on the cold night grass.
"So now what?" Ryder asked.
Bobby, Ryder and I were all dead on the grass, panting and complaining, it was Maya who stood up and pointed her sniper in the direction of Fort Black.
"Destoryed" she replied.
I stood up and pointed my hunting rifle, Maya has the longest scope, and probably the best sniper, but for good reason she can shoot the best.
Fort Black was sinking.
The entire compound crashed, and the facility is already half underwater, there are plenty of Zombies surrounding the ruins, and some even inside of it.
But no suriviors.
"How are we supposed to get inside that?" I asked.
"Carefully" Maya Replied.
Ryder stood up and got a long good look at Fort Black.
Maya started down the mountain, towards Fort Black, luckily this time there was a path.
Bobby, Ryder and I followed behind her.
"You can't be serious!" I asked.
"I am!" Maya called back.
She was pracitally sprinting down the side of the cliff.
I turned to Bobby.
"Bobby, talk some sense into her? Half the compound is underwater we'll freeze to death before we'll even find the cures!"
Bobby continued down the mountain and called back.
"We don't need to go into the compound Jayce!"

...

The four of us stood on the ice.
"So now what?" I asked.
Maya turned away from the compound and instead went towards the Bunker.
"They'll have copies in there, however we know the Bunker was overrun with Zombies, Ryder?" She asked.
Ryder stepped first into the Bunker holding his ppsh.
Bobby, Maya and I shined flashlights into the Bunker.
We saw hundreds.
Hundreds of heads turned towards us and the Bunker filled with screams of the undead.
Ryder just fired.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Ryder wiped out at least half with his ppsh before the drum mag ran out of ammo.
We turned to our other weapons.
The four of us stood back to back in a circle and slowly made our way to the iron door which will take us to the inside of the Bunker.
The undead surrounded us, and the Bunker entrance was filled with darkness, moans and screams, the rotten smell of the dead, and bang of pistols and cracks of hammers on skull, and slices of Mayas Kantana.
"Stay together!" I yelled. "And keep swinging!"
I felt a zombie grab me from behind, I felt it about to bite me, but it didn't.
I turned to see Ryder getting his wrist eaten out by the zombie, he used his wrist as a shield from my back.
I ran over to the iron door, and inputted the code that Maya gave us.
Maya and Bobby shot there guns killing any that came close to us.
Ryder's wrist was bleeding something fierce.
I opened the door and ran inside, ready to shut it.
"Let's go!" I yelled.
The three ran in after me, and I slammed the door, locking it shut.
