Act III: The Church

The Church!
Jayce

"I thought you said the church was only a days drive from here?" I asked Ace, practically yelling at him.

We stood on the side of a road, the five of us gathered around the road.

"Right, well I kinda lied about that part, see the way Jeff and I came was only a day long trip, but we we're cut off by a herd, and we are unable to take that way back" Ace said rubbing the back of his head.

"Dick" I heard Kiera mumble.

I realized something, we left Ryder a map, this will lead him down the way that Ace and Jeff came.

"What about my brother? He's gonna be walking straight into the herd!" I yelled.

Ace raised his eyebrows "first off, if your brother goes there in a few days from now then no, he won't walk into the herd, herds like to keep moving, so he'll be fine, plus I marked off these roads that we're taking now, so in a way we are clearing his path right now!" Ace yelled.

"Great so can we keep going, I don't understand why we stopped" Max said throwing his arms into the air, he was probably just mad that we woke him up from his nap. but I couldn't hear him, I just wanted to slap this lair in the face.

"How do we even know that they're is a community! What if this is all one big lie just to lead us out of our safe camp and then gun us down!" I yelled

"Whoa! Offensive much, jeez I'm not a rapist" Ace defended himself with.

I took a step back. "What?" I asked.

"Ladies, ladies your both ugly, now as your friend in the golden underwear was saying, we should keep moving" Jeff said.

Ace looked at me, his cocky smile just stuck out from the Shadow from under his hood.

"Agreed" Kiera said.

They all started making there way back to the truck.

"Fine" I gritted my teeth and followed the others to the truck.

I wasn't sure what it was about this guy, but he grinded my gears in the wrong way.

...

The Jeep's engine roared as Jeff drove us towards the Church. Kiera sat in the shotgun seat, and Max, Ace and I were huddled in the back.

"So, what exactly did you two do before all of this?" Kiera asked eating a protein bar she found in the glove department.

"Well, I don't know about muscles up there, but I was a part time pizza delivery guy, granted I was working on becoming a pilot" Ace said.

I rolled my eyes, I could only imagine that I pay all this money for a big air lines and the first words I hear over the intercom is "Excuse me ladies and gentlemen but I seem to forget how to zip up my fly on my pants, could one of you fine, young beautiful ladies please come and remind me?"

"Actually I can see you as a pilot" I responded with smiling.

"Yo, Ace we did get the stuff for the festival right?" Jeff asked looking in the mirror to Ace.

"Oh, yeah don't worry, I grabbed it in that small, I dunno I guess it was a store" Ace said.

"Festival? For what?" Max Asked.

Ace turned to Max and answered.

"Well, it's been nearly two weeks since we began building our community, and we want to celebrate because of that, so we're having this big BBQ, games, even a game of basket ball, you guys will love it!" Ace said sitting back down.
