The Risen Pt.2
JayceMy ears were ringing, my head hurt, It felt like my bones were being shattered.
I opened my eyes to a world of dust, my eyes started to water due to the dust in my eyes and I needed to close them.
I heard faint sounds of yelling and gunfire, but then it all stopped.
The dust cleared and I saw Ryder and his Soliders turning there attention away from me and towards the large hole in the wall of the mansion.
I stood up, and stumbled away from the mansion, walking towards a garden next to it.
I fell to my knees by a fountain, and looked at my reflection in the water, what I saw was a scared man, with a face of cuts and bruises. The man had green eyes, black hair and a slim face.
"Move" I heard a voice speak to me.
I began to cry, the ringing in my ears died down a little as I heard the sounds of gunfire nearby.
"I can't" I whimpered, my lip was quivering as I rinsed my hands in the water, trying to rid myself of the blood stains on my hands.
"You have to save them" the voice whispered.
I looked up to the purple portal swirling in the air, a bolt of lightning shot out of it. It seemed so peaceful compared to the mayhem happening nearby.
"Save who?" I cried. "They're all dead"
I looked back down to the ground, and looked at the peaceful flowers that we're planted around the fountain.
"Not all, your still here, and there are others, don't you want to save them?" The voice asked me.
Tears started streaming down my face.
"I can't, I'm weak"
"That's not true, your-"
"Shut up! Of course I'm weak, I'm the worst leader in history! All the people I've gotten killed, all the lives I've been responsible for are gone, all because I couldn't kill him, and I still can't... I'm...I'm just a coward" I spoke looking down to the ground.
Suddenly a hand rested on my shoulder, making me jump and fall into the fountain.
"Your not a coward Jayce, your just inexperienced" the voice spoke, or rather the man, he stood in front of me. He was transparent, but from what I could tell he wore a golden tuxedo and a pair of black sunglasses.
"Max?" I asked.
"Yes Jayce, it's me" he spoke.
"Am I dead?" I asked.
He shook his head.
"Not yet, but your going to be if you don't do what I say"
I thought back to my daydream, the man said I'd be receiving a message from Max soon, and the torch would make sense then.
I pulled the torch our of my pocket.
"Is it this?" I asked.
Max nodded and seemed surprised.
"Yeah, actually, how did you? Nevermind, doesn't matter. Listen follow the dirt trail into the woods, there's going to be a large marble kazeebo, in it will be a table. Place the torch on the table, and mend the rift!" Max told me.
I nodded my head, but didn't fully understand.
I stood up and followed the dirt path, leading away from the mansion and towards the table that will supposedly
mend the rift.
