The Leader Pt.1

Chapter Thrity Timeline

I sat at the small campfire outside of my tent at the Chruch.

I missed Bobby so much.

I watched as the fireworks started shooting up into the air, and they reminded me of a time, a time before all of this, before the misery and cruelty that is this new world.

Ten Years Ago...

I was fourteen the night that it happened.

I remember the night as if it just happened yesterday.

I sat in a open field, watching the firework display with my parents and my older brother Bobby.

I forget why we went to watch the fireworks, but that didn't matter, when the firework display ended we began to get up to leave.

When we reached the parking lot, a man was trying to brake into our car, my Dad tried to stop him but the man pulled a gun on him and shot my Dad dead, soon after my Mother was killed by the same man.

The man left Bobby and I to stand there and look at the dead bodies of our parents, I couldn't move, but Bobby dialed 911.

It was the worst day of my life.

Until ten years later...

Ten Years Later... (Not the present)

Bobby and I lived together in a small apartment in the city of Grimwood we lived on the forth floor, and I sat on our couch watching TV. I had my dog Sadie on my legs, she is stretched out on the couch.

I was flicking through the channels when an emergency service displayed on my screen, and then forced me to the news channel.

"Breaking news! A new diesase has broken out in the heart of Central City! The diease is very dangerous and according to the CDC currently has no cure, the government advises that all uninfected make there way away from Central City as quickly as possible!" The new lady spoke.

I stood up and looked to our spirl staircase.

"Bobby!" I yelled.

A few seconds later Bobby came charging down the steps.

"Did you see the news?" I asked.

He pulled out his cell phone and dialed a number.

"Yes, and don't worry I have a plan" Bobby said putting the phone to his ear.

"Hey! Yeah, it's me Bobby, have you checked the news? Ya? Good, anyways I was wondering if Kiera and I could stay with you until all of this blows over?" Bobby asked whoever he was on the phone with.

After a few moments Bobby spoke again.

"Awesome! Kiera and I are leaving now, we're be there tonight!" Bobby said hanging up the phone and walking over to our kitchen.

"That was uncle Bill, he said we could stay with him until all of this blows over!" Bobby spoke throwing things into a bag.

"Ok!" I said taking deep breaths.

Bobby then grabbed another bag and started throwing a bunch of my stuff into it.

"We need to leave, now!" He said grabbing me by the hand and pulling me out of the apartment, Sadie followed us out.

We ran down the staircase of our apartment building and when we opened the door that took us outside we stopped and started at the choas in front of us.

There were thousands of people on this street alone, and there were people on top of buildings, people throwing heavy objects through windows, it was complete anarchy.
