The Alarm
Jayce

When I saw the red flares shoot into the night sky, I wasn't sure what to think, at first I thought it was Fort Black. Was it possible for Dante and I to have made it here already?

Dante told me that the flares came from the northwest, while Fort Black was to the northeast.
The two of us sat in the woods, on top of a cold mountain, the air was moist and we heard the rumble of thunder in the distance.

"The flares are in the direction of a small village, Bellbrook I think" Dante said pointing at the fading flares.

I sat in aw as we looked at the flares, wondering how to react.

"We need supplies you said, we'll need more ammo, and something loud to get there attention, like a bomb or" I pointed towards Bellbrook. "Flares" I finished.

Dante stroked his small beard, and answered "I like the idea of stopping somewhere to get supplies, don't get me wrong. But more people means more problems, problems we don't have time for."

I nodded my head in agreement, then stopped myself. "What are you trying to say?"

He looked into the flames of our small fire. "I'm saying, if they aren't willing to trade, maybe we give them some rabbit or something. Well if they are not willing to give us ammo, so long as they have it of course then maybe we just take the supplies, by force if we have too." He looked up to me.
The idea was crazy at first, steal from someone? Then again without these supplies we simply won't be able to save Ryder and Dante's friend Rielly.

We will die, so with that in mind I nod my head in agreement "Sure, but only if they're not willing to, and we don't kill them!" I said sternly.
We're heading to Bellbrook at sunrise.

Three Days Eariler...

Ryder Slade

After the lunch yesterday Maya made it quite clear that the kiss meant nothing to her, it was a comfort thing, she and I are both in a dark place, she and I both needed to feel better.
Even after her speech, I can't shake the feeling that there was something more to it.

I can't worry about that.

I check my digtal clock next to my bed, it's 6:07am I role back over, the day starts in less then thirty minutes, with Major Skeleton doing job sign out at 6:30am.
I try to get a few more minutes of sleep, when a loud nuclear alarm starts.

The wale of the alarm filled the room, I jumped out of bed and covered my ears with the palms of my hands.

I threw on the white training pants that the gave me and stumbled out into the hallway, I saw that every other door along the hallway was open and people looked just as tired and confused as I felt. Maya was among them.

"What's going on!" I yelled over the wailing alarm.

The man in the room across the hall answered me, yelling back over the alarm.

"That's a zombie alarm, they must have gotten inside!" He yelled back.

"The zombies got inside?" I asked myself, how?

Fort Black was standing on a frozen lake quite a large one at that. the entire complex was standing on a series of steal pillars, the complex also had a bunker complex on the nearby mountain on the shore. The bunker acted as a training ground, this is where Maya and I were training yesterday.

Other parts of Fort Black such as the bedrooms, cafe and medical bay were all apart of the main compound on the lake. So the only way they got into the main compound of Fort Black is to get through all of the Major's forces on guard, and past all of the lookout stations nearby, in other words not possible.
