Going Back!
Jayce

Maybe it was time. It's been over a week now since we've moved into the Tank, and most of us are ready to head back to Fort Black, just to see if it's still standing.

Max and James both refuse to go, which is probably for the best, as we need a smaller group.

Dante doesn't appear to want to leave the Tank either, although he has talked to me about moving on, he doesn't want to leave yet he needs to recover from Rielly first.

Bobby has volunteered to bring us there.
"You don't need to do that!" I said, standing up from the table we we're gathered around.

Some of us were sitting around the table, while others stood nearby. Dante wasn't even in the room.

"No no, of course I'll go with you all to Fort Black, Kiera and I have been there once before so I know my way from here. Besides it's the least I could do for all James and the rest of you have done for us, not to mention all the free time I have now because someone else is on gate duty." Said Bobby who was standing, he spoke as if he already made up his mind.

Kiera looked shocked.

"No offense everyone, but Bobby are you so sure?" She asked.

Bobby nodded his head.

"When are we leaving?" Asked Maya.
I saw Ryder's glare of confusion.

"I thought it was just Bobby, Jayce and I going?" He asked.

Maya smlied.

"And let you boys have all the fun please, besides I know the place the best, and I want to see if they made a grave for my Dad." She trailed off on the last part.

Ryder nodded his head.

"Then I guess the four of us are going" I stated.

"You sure you guys can hold up without us? Especially with Dante being the way he is?" I asked Kiera, Max and James.

"I can keep a eye on Dante" James stated.

"Yeah, and besides with all of James new toys around here we barely have to do anything. Just don't take to long" Max added.

"How long is the trip?" Ryder asked Bobby.

"A couple hours, we have a truck which should speed things up, but who knows what kind of traffic we'll run into. Once we get there it should only take an hour or two to figure out what kind of condition Fort Black is in, and if it's worth looting." Bobby said pointing at the locations on the big map we have laid out on the table.

"Are we so sure the place is actually destoryed? I mean even if Fort Black fell, it's likely that any suriviors would stay nearby, especially Faraway" Maya spoke.

"That's why we have to be careful! So let's pack up we leave in a hour!" I said.

"Yep" Ryder said standing up and heading down to our bedroom.

Kiera Reed
After the others left, I pulled Bobby aside.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

The stupid prick just shrugged his shoulders, give the same stupid smile as he always did.

"Helping out our friends! I have a feeling they don't completely trust us yet. And frankly we need them to!" Bobby whispered.

I hate it when he speaks like this, it's like a code. Mom use to speak in the same way.

"For what B? I dont get it?" I asked rolling my eyes.

"To defend this place, and us. Most importantly you!" He said.

"What? why? This is there home they'll defend it just the same as us?" I asked.

"Won't they?" I added.

"No, Kiera they won't. They don't care if we live or die. They won't defend this place for there lives yet, we need them to trust us so we can better defend this place!" He started.

"It's why I have to go with them tonight, and it's why you have to stay here! We need all of them to trust us Kiera" he stopped.

"Ok?" He asked.

I nodded my head and smlied.

"Ok B, just be careful" I asked, I don't think I'd ever get over his death.

"Of course Kiera" he gave me a comforting hug, ever since Mom and Dad passed away when I was little Bobby treated me as if I was his daughter. I was maybe 14 when they died, and since then Bobby practically raised me, he quit shcool so I could have a better future. Bobby was 17 when it happened and he left his entire future behind just so I could have one.

He's all I have left

Ryder Slade
Maya and I were alone in what was acting as our bedroom. The giant room full of bunk beds was cold, the few lights that we had on, were powered by a generator that we were using to power the Tank.

We we're packing things into our backpacks for the trip tonight.

"You sure you want to come? I mean they may need you here" I asked her without looking at her.

I felt Maya walking over to me, she wrapped her arms around me from behind and asked.
"What's got you so troubled? You know I can handle myself out there" She laid her face on my back.

I continued to pack my things, trying to ignore her comfort.

"I know you can, but if all four if us leave I feel like this place is defenseless" I lied.

Maya let go of me and stood up.
I turned around to face her.

"Your funny, this place was fine with just Bobby and Kiera, plus we're leaving Dante here with James, Kiera and Max, I'm sure they're be fine."

She gave me her cute smlie and then her face turned more serious.

"What's really wrong?"

I grabbed her in my arms, and held her tight.

"Your fathers grave is back there, I don't want you to see something that may hurt you" I partly lied again.

She kissed me, quickly.

"Please Ryder, I'll be fine. I've know now that my father died when I was bitten"

I just looked at her.

"What?" She asked. Our foreheads agasint eachother.

I kissed her.

"I can't loose you." I whispered.

She smlied. "I know Ryder, I love you" she whispered.

I kissed her again, this time longer, I didn't stop and it felt like I was taken away from this world. A world where we didn't have to risk our lives every second of everyday.
My new perfect world was ruined by a loud bang of a metal door swinging open.

Maya and I awkwardly pulled away from each other.

"Sorry am I interuping something?"

Jayce asked standing in the doorway.
"Get out Jayce" I smlied.
He laughed. "Yeah, sorry. Bobby and I are preparing the truck so hurry up love birds" Jayce laughed closing the door.
