Leaving The Tank! Jayce
I knew they weren't coming back, It's been over three hours and Dante, Maya and Ryder haven't come back. I'll admit I was a little worried, but I had to stay focused.
Max was lying on a couch, trying to get some sleep, but instead he was just watching me, and the ceiling. He was clearly uncomfortable as he kept shifting around on the couch, that I dragged out into the main hub room for him. I then pulled out all of the stuff from the storage room and started filling backpacks with food, water, weapons and ammo. and most importantly Cures.
Maya has the formula in her backpack, and we weren't smart enough to make a copy, hopefully they will be fine.
I loaded a bag just full of guns, we have enough here to load a army if we had one. I heard the couch creak as Max tried to sit up.
I ran over to him and helped him sit up.
"Slow down man, what's up?" I asked.
Max coughed a little and answered. "See the counter over there?" He croaked. and pointed towards a counter on the other side of the room.
"Ya?" I answered.
He nodded his head, and lowered his hand. "Grab, me that set of sunglasses on them?" He said sitting back on the couch.
I walked over to the counter, grabbed the sunglasses and brought them back to him.
"You do know it's night right?" I asked him.
He smiled as he put them on.
"I am aware yes. Thank you" He started, then he looked at the pile of goods I have laid out on a fold out table, along with the six backpacks I have already loaded.
"What's all this for?" he asked.
I looked at the bags I have already gotten packed and realized that I forgot to grab the items from the smaller, storage room upstairs. I decided I would answer Max before I left to grab the rest of the supplies.
"Figured I should get some stuff packed for when they come back, or if that herd works it's way down here, we may not want to stay here if the Major is after us." I then walked upstairs.
I headed into the second storage room and grabbed everything I could carry, filling two bags with ammo and guns, then on my way back down the hall, I passed Bobby's room. I heard someone crying inside the room, and I knocked on the door.
I opened it wide to see who was crying, and I saw Kiera, sitting on Bobby's bed, hands cupped around her face.
"Kiera?" I asked.
She lowered her hands and wiped off her tears, she tried to look like nothing happened.
"Y-yes?" She replied.
I knew there was only two ways she could answer this, both were bad, considering she was just crying, But I had to ask her.
"I'm assuming you didn't find Bobby?"
Kiera looked to the ground in front of her, to brake eye contact. I watched as water built up in her eyes and she wiped it away.
"N-no, He's s-still out there" She practically whispered.
I laid the bags on the ground in the doorway and sat beside her, placing my arm around her for comfort.
"I'm sure he's okay, that's probably why they are taking so long to come back, maybe they found Bobby, and he wants to keep looking for James?" I spoke to her, I wasn't sure if what I said was true, but I needed her in the right state of mind.
