Chapter Thirty Four

Brothers to the End Pt.1

I raised my pistol and pointed it to the nearest zombie in the side parking lot of the church.

Charity, Diana, Kiera and I fired our way through with pistols, while Cassi kept any from sneaking up on us with her bow, and Shadow was keeping zombies off of her.

Once we finished clearing most of the side parking lot, we noticed on how they just keep coming.

"We'll never get through this herd!" I yelled.

"No kidding! I need another clip!" Charity Said.

Diana threw Charity one of her clips as she was was the best shot here.

"We should consider falling back!" Kiera ordered.

We began backing up, as the zombies just kept creeping into the parking lot, who knows how many zombies made it through these walls.

We turned around to make it back to the office. But we stopped dead in our tracks.

Jeff stood in between us and the office, he wasn't wearing his gas mask, but instead had almost spiky black hair, along with at least twelve armed guards, and behind them was what looked to be a army of citizens all armed with knifes, shovels, axes, pitchforks and smashed furniture parts.

"Hello there!" Jeff waved.

In front of Jeff were several figures on their knees, all beaten to a plup.

Jerry, Maya, Damon, Ace and Dante.

"Shit" I mumbled.

Jeff pulled out his Glock pistol and pushed it agasint the back of Dantes skull.

"If I were you, I'd be more concerned about the herd behind you!" Jeff yelled.

I geatursed to the others to fight off the herd.

Cassi, Shadow and Charity went to work with the herd.

Kiera and Diana stayed by my side, we lowered our weapons.

"What do you want!" I yelled.

Jeff smlied, as if this pleased him.

"Simple, revenge!" He said, as if it threatened us.

"No, you want power!" Kiera called.

Jeff seemed surprised as I saw his face go white he tried to hide his clearly guilty face with a lie.

"What...what are you talking about?"

Kiera smlied, first time I saw her do that since Bobby.

"You killed Edwin, framed it on Ryder, and plotted to kill us because you know we'd be the only ones to think that you, the strong rlue following guard would ever do anything agasint Edwin. The only other people who you think would figure you out are right there on there knees in front of you!" Kiera spoke, unmasking his plan.

"You probably led Edwin to the roof, who knows for what reason, and you shot him in the back, either up close and personal, or from a high vantage point" Kiera turned her attention to the mob behind Jeff and his guards.

"We wouldn't kill Edwin, he took us in, he saved us from the world outside. He gave us positions of power, he treated us with nothing but kindness and love! Even Ryder isn't crazy enough to throw that away! Your own leaders! Your lead hunter, your surgeon, the leader of the Scvanger team, Edwin's assistant and Tomas son all sided agasint Jeff! Everyone that were leaders here long before we got here sided with us! Don't you all see it? Jeff is the trader! We only want peace for the community! He just wants control and he'll kill whoever it takes to get it!" Kiera finished.
