The Escape
Jayce Slade"You sure you can shoot straight?" Dante asked James.
The three of us stood on top of a cliff side overlooking Fort Black the sunset nearly made me forget what we were about to do.
The plan was simple, James would take out the nearest watchtower with his slienced rifle, with the guard dead Dante and I would sneak into Fort Black with the cover of night. We'd find Rielly and Ryder and leave.
Dante claims he can find the holding cells where Rielly is kept, once we find Rielly then we find Ryder.
Dante and I hoping he's nearby the holding cells, otherwise we could be in trouble.
"Dante, I was scared yesterday. Besides this is a rifle I've used rifles before, handguns are tricky for some reason." James answered.
Dante smiled at first, but then turned more serious.
"Be careful tonight James." Dante said placing his hand on his shoulder.
James nodded and replied "You too man, if anyone should be worried it should be you."
I just watched Fort Black, I prepped my handgun, my spas 12 shotgun, my pickaxe and my med kit. A few minutes later after James and Dante said goodbye Dante walked over to me.
"You ready?" I asked.
"Always" he replied.
Dante led us down the side of the cliff, when we reached the bottom we waited for James to take out the guard in the watchtower.
We watched James make his shot, he missed the guard completely. The guard turned and looked over at the cliff.I watched as Dante was aiming his pistol in the direction of the guard.
I stopped him and whispered."Your gun isn't slienced, James's is, we have to trust his shooting."
Dante chuckled quietly.
"What shooting? Dude can't hit a tree if the barrel was agasint the log, but the man makes up for it with his cooking, not the mentioned the dude could probably take apart the entire compound of Fort Black and know how to rebuild it."
I watched as James realined his rifle and pulled the trigger, the bullet went right through the man's skull, killing him.
Dante and I jumped up and ran across the ice.
I would be lying if I said that I didn't almost slip, but we made it to the metal ladder leading into the compound, Dante went first I followed him up.
Dante was leading me through the hallways of Fort Black, while we were nearing the holding cells here, I started to think about how Ryder was walking these hall's right now.
Ryder Slade
I was standing on top of the same balcony that I watched Dante and James leave almost a week ago, I wondered if they were still alive, I wondered if Jayce and Cassi were still out there.Perhaps Jayce went to the Ranch to find my parents, he probably thought I left him to die. I knew if he was still out there I would find him and make it up to him.
Maya wanted to leave tonight, she was grabbing things from the storage room to leave, the one thing we couldn't decide on was what to do with Rielly.
"Private?" I heard a voice call.
I turned around and saw Major Skeleton standing at the doorway, he walked out and stood next to me. Oh shit, did Maya tell him our plan? I was filled with fear, but kept it together not wanting to give anything away.
