Engaged Part 2

We arrive to dinner and there's Kirkand no one else. I greet him and he exchanges greeting with Princeand myself. We sit down and the staff brings out our dinner. It wasMahi Mahi grilled. It was a beautiful dinner. I know Kirk is going tobe totally blindsided. We have some small chit chat like he asked howI was feeling and I told him much better. I said I may not be able tostay for the whole party as my stamina is still not all there. Hesaid, Gigi, I hope you can stay longer than the other nite. I said,'I do too'. P and Kirk talk about basketball. I guess Kirk iscatching up on a lot of sports over in the guest house. They talkedabout the teams playing and who they thought the strong teams for theplayoffs. P gets serious and Kirk had concern on his face. I winkedat him. P told him and Kirk was ecstatic. He jumped up and hugged meand shook P's hand. P told him he was the first to know and that hewanted him to be his Best Man. Kirk hugged me again and whispered inmy ear, "Thank you for making my brother happy." I kissed him onhis cheek. P tells Kirk we are taking for a walk on the beach and wewill be back to the terrace by 10:00 and take care of people thatarrive early. Kirk congratulates us again and we head to the beach.That cabana day bed is calling me. I say, "So, how my people arecoming to the party? He says, it's a small party Baby, about 25people. I said, "You still have not told me who all is coming." He said, "You will see." I sat down on the cabana and he sat nextto me. I put my arms around him and kissed him. I said in his ear,"You just can't help yourself, can you?" He said, "Baby I'm sohappy I want to tell the world!" He laughs and we fall back on thecabana. He said, "Baby we are going to party all night long." Isaid, "I hope I can. This cabana is calling me." He said, "Comeon, baby, let's head back to the house. I hear people arriving." Weget back to the house and the gang is there. Yep, the band andsingers and a few I don't know. There's Cathy, Kim and Jackie. Everyone shouts, Surprise, Happy Birthday! I act like I'm surprised.There are a few I don't know so he introduces me. First is this verytall extremely attractive black girl. She sashays over to us and isbubbly and I wonder who this is. It is Damaris Lewis. She is a veryyoung and seemed excited to meet me. She said, "So, this is thelady I've heard that has stolen the boss's heart." The vibe I getfrom her is different but OK. I feel I need to guard myself. So, Iturn on my southern charm and say "How nice to meet you." Shegoes, "Girl, you are something else. I hear you are going on tourwith us. I'll show you the ropes. We are all excited to have you withus." OK, she instantly likes me so go with it. Wow is she goodlooking. He takes me around and I meet some spouses and there'sMorris. He comes in to grab me hard and I narrowly avoided his bigbear hug. He hugs me and takes me aside. He says, "Did you say,yes?" I said, "Morris, everyone was right. You will see." Hegushes and is so happy. He says, "Girl, I have never ever seen himthis happy. There is not a person here that does not know you are HISgirl." I tell Morris, "You wait and see. You guys are gettingyour wish." He said, "I knew it, I knew it." I said, "Keep itcool, OK?" He said, "No problem." I finally find Cathy with theGirls and she knows something's up. She said, "What's up girl? Isaid, "Everyone is getting their wish." The band is stetting upto do some jamming and he's off with them. I pull Cathy aside and goout the path to the gardens. She was beside herself. As soon as wegot out of every ones earshot. I spilled everything that happenedlast nite. She was ecstatic. I told her that we had just told Kirkand he asked him to be his Best Man and I want you to be my Maid ofHonor. She accepted and was crying. I said, "Don't cry or everyonewill know. He wants to surprise everyone tontie. OK? She getsherself back together. She was speechless. She just said, "See whathappens when you trust God." I said, "Thanks you for being thebest friend I could ever want." I said, "Officially, you are thesecond to know but the Girls figured it out when they did myhair/makeup so I had to tell them." We started back to the partyand I told her, "That man is so happy he's going to do somethingthat is going to turn this into a publicity nightmare. I'm glad he isdoing this tonite and maybe he will get some of it out of his system.I just know, he's going to get up on stage somewhere and blurt itout!" She just laughed hysterically. I said, You wait and see. Ican feel it coming. He promised me he wouldn't but I know him." Shesaid, "He is really happy and don't worry he'll not do anything toupset you. He loves you too much." I said, I hope you are right. Weare getting back to the group and she says, "How are you feeling?"I said, "Good just still trying to get my stamina back. I wear outeasy. Not much pain anymore with all the body armor on." Shelaughed. I said laughing, "Picture this. He sent Kirk to pick uptwo lace belly bands at a Maternity Shop in town to surprise me so Icould get the pressure off. I'm still chuckling about that." Shejust laughed and said, "Kirk will do anything he asks him to dowith a smile on." I laughed and said, "Yeah, I know." Cathy, Ihope we get some time alone, I have a ton of really funny stuff totell you to take back to Patrick. I wish he could be here. We arestanding on the edge of the group and she says, "The little man islooking for you, go to him girl." I said, 'I'll catch up with youlater.' I get to him and he gabs me and kisses me and said, "Whereyou been love?" I said "I took Cathy for a walk and told her. Shewill be my Maid of Honor and I had to tell her like you did Kirk."He said, "Cool. We are getting ready to start, are you OK?" Isaid, "Yes. I'll sit here with the Girls and I'm sure Cathy willjoin me. Go get started Sweetheart." They are ready to start. Atthis point there are more people playing than listening. We are allgathered about 6 feet from them. They run through a bunch of songs, alot of my favorites and then he takes his guitar off and pick up themic. He comes over to me and kneels down and sings me "Satisfied"and it was all I could do to keep my cool. When he finished, he tookmy hand and had me stand up with him and he announced, "She saidyes to be my wife, we are engaged! SURPRISE! The music was loud, butI think the cheers and screams from all of them was louder. I was sohappy and relieved that they know. Everyone was so happy for us. Whata party. He said, let's take a break and he took me out to the gardento be alone. He says to me, "Baby, I am so happy now. Words cannotdescribe how I feel. I love you so much." I said, "Sweetheart, Ifeel the same way, you complete me." Some of the group can see usbut we are far enough that can't hear us and he swoops me for a verypassionate kiss and there were cheers from them. He said, "Let's goto the beach." We walk down there and sit on the cabana. He is justbeaming and I know what he wants. I said, "Sweetheart, if I dothat, I'm done for the evening. How about we do that later?" Hesaid, "Cool." I said, "Let me stay here for a bit and get laidout to rest. Send Cathy down and I'll be back up there in awhile.OK?" He said, "Sounds good. The guys are going to go all nite, isthat OK with you?" I said, "What are you going to do?" He said,"I just have this set to run thru and I'll be done. They can stayup without me." I said, "About how much longer?" He said acouple hours. I said, "I can handle that. Just give a bit now andI'll be back for the end. OK?" He kissed me and went to get Cathy.I could here her screaming all the way down to the beach. She gets tome and says, "How are you doing?" I said, I just need to rest afew and thought we could talk and you can keep me awake. When are yougoing back? She said, "Tomorrow nite." I said, "Let me tell youall about it. She was all ears. Cathy, I think all those other thingsI told you were clouding what I really needed to hear. All he saidwas, I want you to be my wife. And it that was it! It was likesomeone else was controlling me and I said, yes." She said, "SeeI told you, trust God and you did. It was him." I said, "Yes Iknow. I just accepted the offer of a lifetime and I have 4 more weeksto celebrate! Why did he pick this time to do it? She just laughedhysterically and said, "Girl, you are too funny. Poor little man.This has to be hard on him." I said, "Oh, he is just fine, it'sme!" She hugged me laughing and said, "Girl, your sense of humoris one of the reasons he loves yous so much. And why everyone elsedoes too. You are good for him and he for you. This is a match madein heaven." I said, "Cathy, Jon Bream said to me when we wereparting from our meeting. Enjoy the magic carpet ride of your life.And he is right. This is going to be just like that and I can hardlywait." She said, "That's a good way to put it and everyone ishappy for you and him." I said, "We better get back. It's hard tosay what else he's got up his sleeve." She helps me up and we startback to the house, she says, "Did he give you a ring?" I held upmy left hand and said, This is all I need and I told him so. I'lltell you more about that later, OK?" She nodded her head yes. Weget back up to the terrace and they are having the time of theirlives playing. I sit back, the girls and some others gather aroundme. It was surreal. They get to the end and he comes over to me andsings his modified version of "If I Was Your Girlfriend" and Ijust lost it. It perfectly describes exactly how he feels about meand it is so beautiful. There was not a dry eye in the house. Thisversion is for me and he vowed to never sing it on tour so very fewwill ever hear it. He really does communicate best thru his music. He hugged me and we said our good nites. The party continued withoutus. As we went upstairs. I said, "Thank you for a wonderful party.I really enjoyed it." He said, "I am happy you liked it. Now forour party upstairs." He is always thinking. Well needless to say,it did not last very long but we were both very satisfied.
