Down Day at the chalet-Gigi POV
I'm wrapped up in his arms when I wake up, but he's still sleeping sound. Sometimes when he's really tired, he has this distinctive hitch in his breath when he exhales. It's in a constant rhythm so even in his sleep he keeps to the beat. I'm glad he's getting some much-needed rest. I was exhausted, this has been a stressful, emotional rollercoaster ride. I need today to unwind, rest and relax. Well, I know there will be romance intermingled with the rest and relaxation. That is perfectly fine with me, the best way to relieve some built up stress and tension. We need a day for 'us' of just enjoying each other's company any way we possibly can. Good thing we did not have plans, it's a dreary, drizzling rainy day so far. Hopefully, it will clear off this afternoon so we can take in a relaxing, long walk. I love taking walks with him. We can talk along the way, getting a peaceful quiet from our serene surroundings which unwinds us to speak freely with each other on all types of subjects, whatever pops into our heads at the moment.
I slip out to use the bathroom and freshen up a bit. Throwing my robe on, I head downstairs to talk with the chef, something smells heavenly wafting up the steps. When I get to the kitchen, Chef Max is hard at work preparing our morning brunch for us. I request he prepare a tray I can take upstairs with me. "No worries Mrs. Nelson. I'll get that for you right away. Here's a cup of coffee and cream puff while you wait." Um, um, um! I love cream puffs with chocolate cream filling. Great snack while I'm sitting here waiting for the main course.
While I waited, I mulled over everything we talked about last night. That was a marathon of deeply emotional, soul-bearing, heartfelt feelings. I sit at the breakfast nook in the kitchen, gazing out the window while sipping on a cup of coffee. Lost in my thoughts, my mind is racing through everything, I can't help but think...picture him doing this in-vitro stuff! Mister...I control every aspect of my life. He is much better now about a lot of things, but...there's still a lot of wiggle room for him to weird-out on me and jump off into the deep end without a life preserver.
God love him. He wants these babies so bad, maybe he'll behave appropriately and keep it all in check knowing the high stakes game we are dealing here. <pfft>Then we have the surrogate when she finds out who the intended parents are. Picture that! I'm sure it will be a major shock to her system. And, to top it all off, we need to find 3 of them with his grandiose plan. I know exactly the perfect agency, Growing New Beginnings. We will have to contact them to find just the right surrogates for us. They have a stellar reputation and work well with celebrities as well as non-VIP's. Basically, they find women that have great DNA and are able to have babies like olympic athletes. The surrogacy programs enlist only the best of the best for couples like us to assist us in our endeavor to start a family. These women have the altruistic need to help and give is basically their reason to become surrogates.
I have to giggle while gazing outside at a dreary day, this is going to be one helluva wild ride. I keep hearing this little voice, "Ladies and Gentlemen, fasten your seatbelt, this is gonna be a bumpy ride," playing over and over in the back of my mind. That is an understatement when you consider the full spectrum of what we are about to embark on.
'Dear God, I hope it is your will we are successful. I don't think I can bear to see his great expectations and happiness crushed if we fail. Lord, take pity on us. Grant us your blessings this time. Amen'
"Ma'am, your food is ready for you and Mr.Nelson." I snap outta my daze and turn my attention to the chef. "Thank you, Max. I appreciate you fixing this tray for us. Please tell the staff to not disturb us, we'll be spending extra time in the master suite today. I'll notify them when we leave so they can make up the room." "Certainly, ma'am. I will relay your instructions to them as soon as possible."
