11 FT Hurry Up, NaLu! 15-10

*SPOILERS* Ship moments up to Tartarus arc. And ZerVis in Alveraz and FTZ. (Which isn't really a spoiler because everyone kinda knows about it anyway.)

Again, this was written before I knew FT was ending and before I read the ending. It was written during May. Ok? Just so you don't get angry at me. (And don't comment spoilers-if you want to, PM me to talk about it.)
I am mostly going off the manga. (I love the S1-4 of the anime, but I didn't watch the new 2014-16 (S5) anime until Moustachio and I watched it together. I don't like the new animation. It annoys me. Sorry.)

The main 4 ships (my personal favourite order):
NaLu
JeRza
GaLe
GrUvia

Gale is canon. We all know opposites attract. Yes, he tortured her in PL arc, but then all the little clues just match so well. Then, of course, the big one: The Air chapter... 😊 Yay! Levy kissed him! First ship kiss in FT! Sure, it was to give Gajeel air, but the internal speech, and the blush afterwards kinda negated that fact.
Jerza is nearly canon. They admitted their feelings to each other (The first couple to do so). They nearly had their first kiss in the sunset (Perfect first kiss scene, Mashima! I applaude you!) Then Jellal just had to spoil it, but we won't pay any attention to that. But they are always there for each other, whether Jellal is evil, or lost all his memories, or when Erza needs help to defeat a bad guy.
Gruvia should be canon. He's a stripper, she's a stalker, he's an ice mage, she's a water mage, they were made for each other. In the 4th epi, the fortune teller told Gray he would have trouble with water and women. They are so perfect, they have to end up together. Erza even ships it, if the above isn't proof enough.

But Nalu? Why is that the only ship that Mashima hints at, but does nothing serious to get them to figure it out!
They've nearly kissed, have been naked together at least twice, Lucy blushes at Mira's shipping, the whole partners in the team stuff, them sleeping together in Lucy's bed (sleeping, not sex, you pervs. Although... if they did, that would make it canon...), etc, etc...
They are the first couple we meet in the manga-in the first 5 pages even. Ultear and Siegrain don't count (Even if they might be shipped in those first few chapters/epis. I don't know. I mean, I kinda shipped them, but when everything was found out, no. No UlGrain/SieTear. JeRza FTW) because Siegrain... well, Siegrain technically isn't real.
Also, they are the only main couple that have never been enemies, or even seriously harmed each other. I mean, Lucy gets roasted alive on a regular basis whenever she is in the line of fire and Natsu has been slapped, but it isn't bad, with what they're being compared to (Jellal trying to sacrifice Erza, Gajeel pinning Levy to a tree, Juvia vs Gray fight). This is something which I didn't notice until I was writing this chapter. All the others have been enemies at some point, but NaLu? Never. Nor have they ever been on opposites sides in even a friendly fight.

But in spite of all that, only a 5 year old kid (Yay, Asuka!) has even mentioned trying this ship. Mira and Happy don't count. After all, they're shippaholics. Therefore, they don't ship just NaLu, but (mainly Mira) NaLis, GrayLu, LoLu and others that I don't really want to think about because if they happen, then NaLu can't happen.
Plus in one of the later chapters (Can't really be bothered to search 350 chapters to find one scene) it is stated that only a soulmate can break a love charm. Notice how none of the other girls are affected by Natsu's entrance in ch1. (I actually learnt this when looking up NaLu pictures on Google images, so, this is credited to whoever made that image.) And he doesn't knock into Lucy or anything, he actually comes in opposite her in the circle.
But they are not yet officially a couple in the manga/anime. And now we know that they are literally soul mates. So hurry up and make NaLu canon, Mashima! Please!
