11.5 Hetalia ... Gutters 23-10

RFR is 6 months old!

I just had a mini-marathon of fun, happy Hetalia episodes to get over this, and now I'm rehashing it. Because, you know, I can.
Also, it's been three days since I read it. Not gonna lie, it's gonna get emotional in here.

So, I've been seeing all this stuff about this fanfic called Gutters in other Hetalia books and random things of Google Images, and there were all these references to pineapples and Sealand and Denmark that I didn't get, so I thought, Why not?
. . .
So many reasons why not!
WHY DIDN'T I LISTEN WHEN THEY SAID IT WAS SAD AS HELL!?!!

My god, it was soooo good, yet soooo bad, because it was great story, spelling, everything, just...
Angsty as all hell.
It's only 20 chapters long, but you get to know all the characters so well in those 20 chapters. And it's so bloody sad it's horrible.

I now see Denmark in a clearer way. I mean, I knew he wasn't just a joker before, because he was a Viking, after all, but after Gutters... Jesus.
I also now hate the Netherlands A LOT more than I hate Turkey. And Turkey was more of a 'I dislike you because you freak me out a bit'. I never really had an opinion on Ned before, but this gave me so much hatred for him, it's unbelievable.
But I truly love the part where Denmark tells Sealand that every Nordic was one. (It's vague because it's a spoiler. People who've read it will know what I'm talking about.) I love that scene. I can totally see them doing that, just because they love him so much.
And the end, with the note... I... I really... 😭

I can't express how much it means, to have such a great fanfic in this community, even if it kills you to read it. (Seriously, if I thought it would be half as angsty as it was, I wouldn't have read it. I go more for fluff.)
But there were so many people talking about it and saying it was really good, so I thought, What's the harm?
So much harm... To me and to Hetalians everywhere.

If you like that stuff, go for it.
But it you like fluff and your heartstrings to stay connected and your eyes normal instead of red and puffy, don't. For the love of God, keep away if you want to never see the characters the same way again!

I'm gonna go continue crying under my bedcovers.

But 2 things before I do...
I'm gonna sulk for ruining Hetalia Day for myself, and hope out my Hetalia Day Meet Up works...
