*SPOILERS* TMI, Shadowhunters Season 1
So, I'm talking about the TV show, Shadowhunters.
As the first thing, may I say good job to the production team! Although they changed it from the books, to make it different and new to the readers as well, they didn't totally change the plot so it is completely fucked up (Like something else I might mention).
M🥜: No you can't. You deleted that file from your mind in chapter 2, remember?
BD: *confused* What file?
M🥜: *sigh* Exactly. In epi 10, This World Inverted, they go into a parallel world.
When Clary jumps in, she basically possesses herself. Her SH personality takes over her mundane personality and body, so there isn't a time paradox, and total platonic reversal (Goddamnit Potter Musical!) because there's two Clarys in the same world. And when Jace follows, he does the same thing after screaming like a girl because he saw a demon (Can I just say, that bit was hilarious.)
So now, we have one body, two personalities. Which makes sense.
Then Clary finds Magnus, the party, meets Jace x2, etc, until Magnus opens the portal that will take those two back home.
Which it doesn't. Instead of the forest where they went in, they end up in Chernobyl, Valentine's evil little hideout.By the way, why Chernobyl for the evil lair? I don't know. Weird producers. (I wonder if shadowhunters can get uranium poisoning? Or if they glow in the dark? Human witchlight!) Besides, it's in Ukraine. Bit of a jump from NY to there.
Oh Raziel, I've just had a thought. What if they're trying to give the impression of Idris being in/near Ukraine? Then Chernobyl would make sense. God I hope not. Idris' suppost to be in Europe!
I mean, technically, Ukraine and Russia is Northern Europe, but still. When most people hear Europe, they think of the tiny little countries stuck together, not Russia. Please, Idris cannot be in Ukraine!Anyway... But when they jump back into the portal to take them home, their bodies go in as well.
That means that the two mundies vanish from that world! That means there is no more ClAce in that world! *sob*
So why did that happen?
Because the SHs possessed them, the mundie bodies should have crumbled to the ground unconscious when the SHs went through, instead of going with them.
And also, once they get back to the SH world, their mundane personalities disappear. So if they aren't in SH world, and aren't in their original world...
Where are they?
Did they just disappear from everyone's existence? From their memories so they don't freak out when their friends are gone? What happens to the people who get left behind if they do remember? (I think they would. After all, Magnus remembers. But that might just be because he is a warlock or because he sent them through.) Simon, Alec, Izzy? Hell, Jocelyn and Valentine? Their daughter's just disappeared.
That scene doesn't make much sense at all.And can I just get some sympathy for Magnus?
Can you just imagine if Jocelyn or Valentine come down those stairs and are like "You there, did you see my daughter?"
"Nope." Definitely did not see your daughter jump into a portal because it turns out you/your husband (depends on who he's talking to) are evil in another world and she has to save your wife/you from you/him. Oh, and let's not forget saving the whole world from you/him and the army of demons you/he has collected. (Is that suppost to be has or have? Not entirely sure.)
"Hang on. We didn't invite you here! Security!"
But they are really gone from that world, and Magnus was the last person to see them. So he's probably going to get arrested for kidnapping them or murdering them or something.
And he won't be able to do anything about it, because he did kinda send them off to die in Valentine's lab, and he isn't a strong warlock in that world. He might not be able to magic himself out (plus the fact that if he could, he would have been classed as a escapee, etc etc. You know where I'm going with this.)
So #glitterysympathyforMagnusOn another note, I found out my laminator is anti-Nazi.
I was laminating 2 German Iron Crosses for my Germany/HRE cosplays. The first cross (the normal German Cross) came through fine, perfect really. Then in went the Nazi Iron Cross... It got stuck, curled around the two poles in the laminator and started to melt onto it. It took nearly an hour and a half to get them out and put the laminator back together.
But I had to cut the cross to get it out. Which means I'll have to laminate another one.
I'm scared that one's going to get stuck as well.
