So, I was just changing the about me section on my profile page, and I just happened to look down...
I've had views! 🎉 Yay! Thank you for reading this! (Not sure if you just looked at the description page or actually came into the book because the book on my profile is showing 4 views, but none of the chapters are. But that might've been because I republished the chapters. Plus, there's 5 chapters out and only 4 views...) *shrugs* Eh. Don't really care about that.
And if you just had a look at the chapters then went, 'she's sucky, never gonna come back here.' Thanks for trying, even though you're not reading this page anyway.
But if you have come back and are reading this chapter, THANK YOU!!!!
🎉 I GOT VIEWS! 🎉

Sorry. Here's the actual chapter now:

(We will not be talking about Merlin. We are talking about the wizards that are actually IN the books/movies, not just a passing reference.)

People say that Slytherins aren't all bad.
I think we can all agree that Voldemort and Bellatrix are definitely not good. Agreed? Agreed. Glad we got that out of the way.
I agree that Slytherins aren't ALL bad.
(Most of them are, though.)

And when they follow it up with 'Snape is the goodest (is that even a word?) of the Slytherins'? No! No! Fuck no!

SEVERUS SNAPE:
Ok. Just for you guys who say that Snape was a 'good guy'...
Before Voldemort threatened the Potters, Snape was still a DE. The only reason he came over to the 'good side' was because of Lily. Not the family, not all the people who had been hurt. Just Lily being threatened. He didn't really care about Harry or James. Just Lily.
Here is the passage from that scene (pg 357)
"If she means so much to you," said Dumbledore, "surely Lord Voldemort will
spare her? Could you not ask for mercy for the mother, in exchange for the son?"
"I have – I have asked him – "
. . .
"You do not care, then, about the deaths of her husband and child? They can die, as long as you have what you want?"
Snape said nothing, but merely looked up at Dumbledore.
"Hide them all, then," he croaked. "Keep her – them – safe. Please."
Then later,
"I thought...you were going...to keep her...safe..."
So for you, who professes that Snape was good, answer me this: If it wasn't Lily who was being threatened, would he have changed sides at all?
He hadn't disobeyed any orders before then. He had been a perfect little DE.
Think about if it was Alice and Frank Longbottom instead of Lily and James? Snape, as far as we know, didn't know the Longbottoms. If Voldemort took the prophecy to mean Neville instead of Harry, would Snape have switched sides?
Seriously think about it. Don't just ignore it because Liverus is your OTP. (I have no clue what their ship name is, and frankly I don't care. I don't ship it. You might have figured that out.)
And even after Lily dies, Snape is so mean to Harry (just because he reminds Snape of James. I mean, what did you expect, he did provide half of Harry's genes) that Harry thinks he still IS a DE. He basically bullies Harry, not as badly as Malfoy, but with everything Harry does wrong, he takes 5000 points from Gryffindor, which is bullying.
So just because he swapped sides when someone he loved was in danger, doesn't mean he is good.
And for spying on Voldemort for Dumbledore? Dumbledore tried to save her, so Snape owed him.

DRACO MALFOY
So, we all know Draco is bad.
He's the main bully for 6 whole books. Sure, there's Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy, but Malfoy is the main one. He is the main antagonist when they are at school (Voldemort isn't really at the school most times [He shows up at the end in PS, is actually a diary in CS, not present at all really through PA, the cemetery in GF, the fight scene in OP is at the ministry, he doesn't show up except in dreams and the pensieve in HBP... and finally rocks up at Hogwarts in DH.])
In HBP, Malfoy lets in all the DE and nearly kills Dumbledore. Speaking of Dumbledore: Just because Malfoy didn't kill him doesn't mean he wasn't going to do it. Dumbledore (no offence to anyone who likes him. I do like him, but you can not say that this isn't true) was actually a master manipulator. Just look at Harry trying to kill all the Horcruxes with no clues at all. But he still did it, because Dumbledore told him to. Malfoy not killing Dumbledore is not a point in his favour, as Dumbledore would have manipulated the situation until it was one he wanted (such as, Snape killing him, and getting Voldemort to believe Snape was on his side, and Snape 'being' the heir of the Elder Wand).
Malfoy says he didn't really know if it was Harry in Black Manor, because of the jinx. I mean, I still haven't worked out what was going on in that head of his that scene, but he  definitely got thanks from the trio, and us, for not giving it up. But that doesn't exclude the 6 years of bullying (and curses) that he did to Harry.
When Malfoy's life is in danger in the Room of Requirement, he gets saved by Harry, and suddenly the fandom thinks he's not really bad? Get your head on straight, people! It's called self-preservation.
Then, he walks over to the dark side in the finale of the big battle, kind of undoing the half-decent image we had just made of him, before running away because he didn't want to fight (self-preservation, again).
Draco is an awesome character, yeah, but not that good of a person.
